She closes her eyes and I begin to think about it. My past has scared me for life. I need to tell her... but how could I? That's why I was kicked out of my other pack. I was... a traitor. My eyes turn from green to pale, then to a blood-red, a sign of my inner darkness has shown. That creature... how could I have been so foolish? I hate myself for what I have done.

The she-wolf opened her eyes and watched him, noticing something was wrong.

"Hey. Ember... What's wrong? You seem..."

As Tasha spoke, Ember's eyes turned back to their natural colour. He looked at her, trying to hide his sadness and anger.

"I don't know... Kinda upset, I guess."

She finished, looking into his eyes.

"What makes you say that?"

Ember asked, and licked her nose.

"You just don't look yourself. You've been like that alot lately, I've noticed. Is something wrong?"

Tasha's voice calmed him, but the thought still remained. Ember shook his head.

"And you've been really quiet, too."

She added, and licked him back. He sighed, looking down at the ground.

"Just...I don't know... I guess I'm just tired."

He looked back up at her.

"Ok... but don't be afraid to tell me. You know you can trust me."

Tasha smiled and put a paw on top of his.

"I would never tell anyone."

She whispered.
