The official ref sheet for my character, Raven. He's not a wolf, okay? Wolves don't have tails or ears that long. They don't come in that color either. Raven is a fantastical species of canine that I will write more on later.

I'm actually really pleased with how this turned out...probably one of my best-drawn canines ever!

I like it a lot! Great expression, and I love the simple facial markings. The body structure looks similar to that of a maned wolf, though you said it's not a maned wolf. I'm curious what canine you have in mind??

Maned wolves are actually foxes.

Well...not really any canine in specific...he's a made up, fantastical species of canine. His anatomy is very similar to that of a red fox...but he's larger than any wolf.

Actually, a maned wolf is not a wolf or a fox, they belong to their own group, and are the only species in said genus:

Although the maned wolf displays many fox-like characteristics, it is not closely related to foxes and lacks the elliptical pupils found in foxes. The maned wolf's evolutionary relationship to the other members of the canid family makes it a unique animal.
