WtD Name:
Niebla (means Mist in Spanish)
When I saw her, my first thought was Raspberry, but I didn't think it really fit her. So, off I went to Google Translate, and looked up quite a few names. Fall, Bird, and Apple were some of those names, but none fit her. Then I typed in "Mist" and Niebla came up. I immediately loved that name, and decided that is what I would name her. It may not fit her, as she doesn't even remind me of Mist, but you don't have to look like something to be named after it.

Story:
It was hot out, and even in the shade it was still terrible. Niebla, needing to get cooled down, slipped into the water of the stream and swam down the stream, the cool water feeling good. The stream finally let out into a lake, and Niebla got out of the water and shook, sending water droplets flying. The sun was starting to set, and it was starting to cool down a bit. Suddenly, she sniffed the air and smelled something. Apples!
She followed the scent to a house, where hummingbird feeders and plants that attracted the tiny birds where everywhere, but then she spotted the apple tree. Red, juicy apples hung on the tree. Niebla licked her lips and climbed up to the tree, snapping one of the apples off of a branch, and taking a bite out of it. The apple was juicy and sweet, and tasted wonderful.
As Niebla was just about to bite into her second apple, she heard a noise in the bushes and looked down. At the base of the tree, there was a Whiptail Dragon!
He was looking at something, and Niebla looked over to see what he was looking at. A ruby-throated hummingbird buzzed around one of the feeders, perched and took a drink from it, and then flew away, making a little twittering sound. Niebla watched as the Whiptail Dragon got up and trotted out of the garden and into a house. Niebla took a bite of the apple and then dropped it, climbing down from the tree.
Suddenly, the Whiptail Dragon appeared. Niebla let out a growl, but the other Whiptail Dragon looked confused. "What's with the growling?" He asked. "Nothing." Niebla said. This was obliviously a tame Whiptail Dragon, living in a house with humans. "I'm Mantequillo." The Whiptail Dragon said. "I'm Niebla." Niebla said, anxious to get out of the yard. "Why don't you come inside?" Mantequillo said. "It's nice and cool inside!" Suddenly, a female human appeared. "Mantequillo! Come inside! It's getting dark." She said, and was then startled to see a green and pink blur vanishing into the woods.
Niebla didn't really leave the yard. She climbed into the apple tree, which branches are quite large, and easy for Niebla to lay on. She lay awake for a while, watching the house where Mantequillo lived with his human. She sighed, and lay her head on her paws. It was completely dark out, and Niebla could barely see the starry sky through thick canopy of leaves.
When she woke up, she heard the scratching of claws on the tree trunk. She looked down and saw a Whiptail Dragon sharpening it's claws on the tree. Niebla scrambled to her paws and gripped the branch tightly she was standing on with her claws. This Whiptail Dragon wasn't Mantequillo, and Niebla wondered what he was doing in Mantequillo's yard, but then again, what was she doing in his yard? The new Whiptail Dragon looked up and saw Niebla. "Hello!" He said Brightly.
"My name's Zero." He said. "I'm Niebla." Niebla said, a little startled by the friendliness of this Whiptail Dragon. "Pleased to meet." Zero said, but just then Mantequillo appeared. "Zero? Is that you?" He asked. "Yep! I haven't seen you in a while, Mantequillo!" Zero said, bounding over to Mantequillo. Niebla grabbed an apple and climbed down from the tree, and then suddenly stood quietly as a female ruby-throated hummingbird past. "Mantequillo! Look!" She said quietly.
Mantequillo and Zero turned to look as the hummingbird flitted around a red flower, and then drank the nectar before flying away. "They are so fast!" Zero said. Mantequillo nodded, and then climbed the apple tree and grabbed two more apples and climbed down, handing one to Zero. The three Whiptail and Dragons ate their, juicy, red apples.
Though Niebla would never become a tame Whiptail Dragon, but she sleeps in the apple tree and sees Mantequillo almost everyday, and Zero comes to visit sometimes.
They are all good friends, and often go into the woods together. It is sure they will have many adventures.

Personality:
Timid.
Niebla is a timid WtD, especially toward WtDs she doesn't know, but quickly becomes friendly towards an other WtD once she get's to know it. She is not at all friendly toward humans, though, and will run away from then as soon as she sees one.
Kind.
Niebla is a kind WtD with a big heart. Though she may be timid, she is always trying to help others in need, and loves to take care of injured wild animals until they are better and can fend for themselves. Once, she even took care of an entire opossum family!
A poet.
Niebla likes to peel some of the bark off the birch tree in Mantequillo's yard, and then right poems on it. She has written many lovely poems, which she keeps tucked safely in a hole in the apple tree. She writes at least three new poems a week, and sometimes lets Mantequillo and Zero read them.
Autumn lover.
Niebla loves the beginning of fall, when the leaves are just starting to turn brown and golden, pumpkins suddenly appear in Mantequillo's yard and other peoples, and mushrooms grow on the tree bark and everywhere. As well as an Autumn lover, Niebla loves mushrooms, how they taste and look, and she often spends her time searching for mushrooms in Mantequillo's yard. She loves to chase autumn leaves as they fall from the apple tree and other trees in the yard.
Bird watcher.
Niebla loves to watch birds as they come to the feeders (the regular bird feeders, not hummingbird feeders XD) and often picks up the feathers they leave behind and put them in the hole in the tree along with her poems. Her favorite types of birds are geese and hummingbirds, like Mantequillo, though she sometimes tends to chase the geese.
Apple and Raspberry lover.
Niebla's favorite foods are Apples and Raspberries. Red apples sweet and juicy, and green apples are deliciously sour. Raspberries are so delicately sweet, and Niebla finds them to be her two favorite foods. During halloween, when Mantequillo's owner buys candy apples, he will take one to Niebla for her to eat, as she loves them.
Swift.
Niebla is swift and can quickly climb trees, swim fast, and run fast. Though she can only run for short periods of time before she gets tired out. She can do things quickly, like help Mantequillo find flowers in the woods that would attract hummingbirds, as she is very sensitive to pollen and can smell it from miles away easily.

Why you want her:
Well, I when I saw her, I told myself no, that I shouldn't try for another WtD so soon after winning Mantequillo, but I just coming back to this girl and finally gave in to her pull. She and Mantequillo would become good friends if I won Niebla, and I hope with all my heart that I do. I don't know what it is about her that drew me to her, maybe it's because she reminds me of apples, waiting to be picked from a tree full of apples as the leaves of the tree turn to browns and golds as Autumn sets in. Some would might say she reminds them of spring or summer, but this girl makes me think of Autumn, and, I admit it... fresh raspberries straight from the bush. So, she reminds me of apples and raspberries XD
I love her colors and design, and I think she is just beautiful, and I hope I am chosen as the new owner of this girl. Anyway, I also love that each of her horn segments have two colors instead of one, and her expression, and her eye color... I could go on forever. I have been anxiously counting the days until the contest ends, getting more nervous as the days pass by. Thank you for the chance at getting this WtD.
