What is a kitty?
Kitties are sweet furry creatures much resembling a cat, but they do not act exaticaly like their feline cousins. Kitties will eat almost anything! The love to eat meat, berries, cake, you name it! Kitties are very agile climbers and can even climb upside down! They can jump up to six feet without any momentum. The longest kitty jump known to man was 60 feet! Kitties bond deeply with their owners and it would be tragic to them if they were abandoned.
Short haired kitties are the most common. They have all around skills at everything. They were supposedly a combination of Long furred kitties and Bobtail kitties. The new kitty blended the thickness of the other two breeds and made a nice, thin, yet warm coat. Short hairs shed in the summer and grow a shaggy winter coat. They don’t have a favorite food associated with their species. The Short hairs have widely varying attitudes, appetites, and likes, but they are quite affectionate and loving.
Some kitties have longer fur than others. Long furred kitties have...'enhanced' attitudes. The tend to be pickier and better jumpers than short furred kitties. Long furred kitties can jump up to 10 feet without momentum! Scientist believe this is because Long furred kitties came from the mountains with plenty of food to choose from and large crevices they had to leap to survive. These kitties are terrible swimmers because their dense fur never sheds and collects quite a bit of weight in the water hence the terrible fear of water Long furred kitties have. These kitties often have dark coats to blend into the mountain-scape with. Brighter Long furs are harder to find because they tend to keep hidden because of their obviousness making them easy prey to their natural enemy: Eagles. Long furred kitties prefer to eat meat over anything else and strongly fear all birds. The Long furred kitty’s favorite meat is rabbit and they will go to great lengths to get it. Long Furred kitties have very long claws used to grip the shifting rocks of the mountains. Long furs are also known for their great problem-solving skills. Tests on Long furred kitties showed they have excellent memories and every location they see is instantly installed into their ‘mental map’. Long furred kitties’ fur is always thick and warm since they live in an freezing landscape.
Some kitties lack the fine tail the others have. Bobtail kitties are quite hard to find because of their shy nature. Bobtails can get cold very quickly because of their thin fur is always a summer-coat since they come from a region of tropical islands. Bobtails are good vertical jumpers, but not very good when trying to cover a distance by jumping. This is because on their island home they have to jump straight up to reach the ripe fruits growing on the tropical trees. The lack of a tail makes their balance poor so when they try to jump long distances with forward momentum they often fall over or crash! These tail-less kitties have an exceptional sweet tooth! Being raised on sugary flower nectar, coconuts, bananas, and papayas they crave sweets and will do almost anything for them! Bobtails are skilled swimmers, known to fight the strong ocean currents to catch small fish, but their coat produces little oil to resist the water so these kitties don’t idle in the water for the risk of getting wet. Bobtails are known to be overly affectionate. Often, a Bobtail will find a small animal such as a mouse to care for as its own ‘pet’. Bobtails are loyal to their ‘pets’, bringing them food and cleaning them. Bobtails’ tongues are extra-long and slick so that they can be inserted into the delicate tropic flowers to lap up nectar. Instead of cleaning with their tongues, Bobtails often bathe in the ocean or take dust baths. They lick the more sensitive parts such as their tear ducts and paws. They can clean wounds with the soft tongue. The saliva of Bobtails is said to have healing powers and speed up the growth of cells, however, this is widely considered a myth. The claws of these kitties are very narrow and razor sharp. They are designed to cut through hard shells of coconuts and other fruits with ease and can be deadly weapons if kitties turn on each other, although Bobtails are known to be exceptionally peaceful. Bobtails often have brightly colored coats that dazzle in the sunlight.
A few of the kitties you may see here have wings! Winged kitties often come from places with high sea cliffs where they carve large dens into the stone walls. These kitties love fish and use an eagle like dive when fishing. They are also swift swimmers, known to chase down the fastest of fish using their wings underwater to gain speed. Some winged kitties have feathers decorating their body for display purposes. Winged kitties have well-oiled coats that are water resistant so that they can swim happily without getting freezing cold or soaking wet. Winged kitties are very good jumpers and used their wings to glide down slowly, allowing them to cover a greater distance. These kitties have very strong wings and can fly for twenty-four hours at a time! Though their main diet is fish, Winged kitties also eat bird eggs and sea grass regularly. A strange twist in their digestive system allows them to drink sea water to stay hydrated. Their body sifts the salt out of the water and uses it for extra strength. Winged kitties love to show off their speed and often race each other for extended periods of time. Their teeth are pronged, much like a seal’s and very sharp so that they may grip fish easily. They are normally natural colored, but not just in cat colors, any natural coloring at all.
