Short Story: I was taking a hike one day to see a waterfall. it was beautiful. I dropped my stuff and walked towards it. the waterfall was feeding into a natural pool, so i got in it. I was just swimming around, enjoying the refreshing water, when a kitkin popped up from under the surface. That little thing almost gave me a heart attack! it swam around me. When I reached out to pet it it jumped up into my arms. We splashed each other, and just had a good time. We it was time to go, I got my things and headed back to my car. When I got there, I opened the trunk. I looked over and saw hat I had dropped something. When I picked it up and got back to the car, the kitkin was in my trunk! It followed me all the way from the waterfall to my car! After that she never left my side, no matter what I was doing.

Sitting at the edge of a window at witching hour, I yawn tiredly. At that moment Nokto jumps into my lap. I gently carase her back and grap her tail and play with it. She then leaned up against the my stomach and rubbed her head on me. Smiling I tap her lightly on the side and set her down on the window seat next to me. Standing up she chirps softly, sad that I had just left her. Smiling I neal in front of her. Seeing the moon glow against her, she looked like a cloud. A beautiful and graceful cloud. At that moment I thought of her name. Nokto. I spoke Esperanto a little bit, and thought that name would just be perfect.

I shook my head, thinking it was just a figment of my imagination, and continued to wander up the path. I heard the noise again, this time a bit louder. I decided to investigate. Stepping over a bush, I saw a small white creature with intricate designs on its face, tail, and fur. It made the piste again, this time looking up a me, trembling and swaying its tail. I scooped it up gently and put it in the pocket of my hoodie. It purred contentedly, pressing its small warm body up against me.
"Misty," I murmured. "I'll call you Misty."
