A completely realistic drawing of outer space

Postby aleatory » Sun Jul 08, 2012 12:04 pm

~Dedicated to Vrazda, who taught me how to use oekaki, introduced me to Doctor Who, and is an all-around wonderful friend~

Overall rather pleased with how this came out- it's just a simple night sky, no constalations to speak of, as the stars were placed at random/wherever needed some light.
This is mainly based on my own experences stargazing- I saw a few planets, a meteorite, and noticed how stars cluster in some places and are spread further out in others. I did not, however, see the TARDIS.

TARDIS design copyright Doctor Who and BBC.
No reference used.

Also I didn't actually spend eight hours on this, as you can probably tell. It took maybe.. two? One and a half?

Aw... Aleatory... thank you oodles! (No Doctor Who pun intended. I don't know how thankful the Ood are, anyway)
I LOVE it! It looks so perfect and glowy and shiny and, yes, realistic! You scattered and clumped the stars so well, and I love the way you swirled the background blues with tiny bits of orange and red! It really gives the sky extra depth, and few people care enough about the sky to get it right. :3 This is more than just 'right,' it is perfect! You even included some orange/red stars to complete the varying coloury-ness of it all! =D
Not to mention that epic shooting star, the amazing galaxy in the upper right corner, (which I cannot stop staring at), and, of course, the TARDIS.
That TARDIS just pulls the whole drawing together. It looks amazing. <3
THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU! :D
(I know the drawing isn't mine, but a dedication is a HUGE honor. Especially from an amazing person like you. ^^)

I can't wait to see you on Wednesday! Until then, a virtual squeezehug is about the best I can do. *squeezehugs*
And there just might be a virtual cookie on its way, as well. ;)

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.

Aw, I'm glad you like it- it was pretty fun to make as well! Most of what I know about layers/blending is what you taught me anyway, so the least I could do is draw you something ^^ And I just had to include the TARDIS, since you're the person who showed me Doctor Who!
((The sky is one of my favorite things in the whole world to look at- the stars are all different sizes and spaces, the sky is many colors at once- especially the night sky on a clear night ((Even better on a new moon night))- and I just knew I wanted to try drawing it with the CS oekaki program. The TARDIS is the only Doctor Who thing I'm decent at drawing, since humans (and Timelords) are so hard to get right. It fits right into a night sky, doesn't it? :3))
