Chapter Two
The Secret Champion
As i was loaded into the trailer, i felt some deep part of my heart break. of guilt, loneliness, i don't know. but as i watched, i caught Arabian Night's eye. and what i saw was,... a champion. i saw inside my son, the heart of a champion. the will to run. i saw inside my son,... what i saw in myself. my pride, passion, the will to win. Virginia's strictness, stubbornness. that moment i know my son would be the greatest champion of all.
Chapter Three
A Year Later
I was getting ready for his first race. I was two now, and I had wanted to be a champion after my father died. I started my training, and now, it was an hour until the race. My rider was light, and his name was Ronnie. I liked Ronnie. We were getting put into the gates... Ronnie held the reins tight and held my mane, not letting go. *Ring* the bell sounded. I burst out of the gate, not looking at anything but in front of me. I ran as fast as i could, breathing heavily with every step i took.
