~Some Things About The Breed~
The Cão Fila de São Miguel, also know as São Miguel Cattle Dog and Azores Cattle Dog, is from Portugal. It is a medium to large dog which comes in different brindle shades. If undocked and uncropped, the dog has medium sized floppy ears and a long bristly held up and slightly curved tail. They are a rather rare herding dog breed, and ones that are bred in America are generally oversized which has caused the dogs to have more health problems compared to ones bred in Portugal. They are working dogs and need lots of work and trainer to ensure they get there exercise and it helps control aggression issues.
~Name~
Tayla
~Nickname~
Tay
~Gender~
Female
~Age~
3 years and 8 months old
~Discription~
She is a hyena looking dog with a short, smooth brindle coat. She is docked and cropped.
~History~
Her parents were breeding dogs owned by a hobby breeder. Unfortunately the breeder had a rather bad reputation of not socializing her dogs enough and generally sold rather aggressive dogs.
Tayla was born in a litter of 8, 6 boys and two girls. All 8 puppies were cropped and docked. Tayla was kept as a breeding dog but once she was 2 years old, the breeder gave up after so many complaints of the outcome of the dogs. Tayla was given up to the local shelter where she was soon adopted out.
Her life wasn't very bad, she just lacked attention but thankfully it did not turn her into a large aggressive dog.
~Personality~
Tayla is an insecure dog who, if it's the right time, will be sweet and loving. She's easily intimidated by other people and most dogs, although she has found a few connections. She's abnormally quit and not as energetic as most dogs. She will, lots of the time, stay close to her owner and will use her owner like a barrier to separate her from other dogs and people.
Tayla is still a little wary about her new owner but while time goes on, she learns to accept her new life.
