Short Story:

Like a rocket spurting from its station, Spore shot through the trees, his fur rippling in the tense July air. Swerving around a craning willow tree trunk, he landed squarely on his paws. The zebra he had been pursuing flitted away, leaving Spore hungry and agitated. "Stupid creature!" he scowled, kicking his foreleg against the grass in frustration.

With a sigh, he slunk back across the field. Prey had been running low in his lands lately, and many of his pridemates had gone hungry. His ribs poked out his skin like the bones of a salmon, and his exhausted lope proved that he was starting to starve.

A few more moments, then I'll return home. he reasoned as he padded along the sweeping grasslands. After stopping at a pitiful oasis for a lick of water, he continued his hunt along the upper regions of the savannah. Trees grew in knotted clumps, and puddles dotted the landscape, but no game was in sight.

WIP, sorry for the boring-ness of this story so far it has absolutely no plot =D
