"Why did everybody look at me like that?" I originally ment for the question to be only for myself, and I did not expect master Merlin to answer:
"You ask why, Solwynn? You should already know." I hesitated, for this had every sign for a trick question. "I-I... just thought that she would get hurt."
"Even when she murdered your sister?"
"She could've died from that fall."
"She was being burned at the stake. She should have already died." Merlin must have seen my confusion: he didn't let me answer.
"I can clearly say that you are your father's son, Solwynn- you have a knack for doing before thinking. That may be so to the point that you are highly merciful, unlike your father. You are too willing to forgive. Let us hope that it does not lead you to your downfall."
