Name: Morningdove
Age: 4 1/2
History:
Morningdove when she was younger was a very shy Winnow. She usually kept to herself or with a few close friends. All the other Winnows' had such different pelts compared to hers. She herself had soft beige-white fur with light grey stripes here and there. Everyone else has darker pelts, or more patterened. Her friends didn't seem to mind, though at times she had caught awkward glances from them. They all had darker fur then her, her best friend Aquatear had a beautiful pelt. With soft white fur, aqua blue eyes, softer blue tints in her mane and tail. She was simply beautiful even if her fur was plain. Morningdove stayed away from Aquatear as they grew up and she had become much more popular. Morningdove acted like she didn't mind, she was happy for her friend. But on the inside something snapped, like a delicate feather just split. From then Morningdove stayed alone by herself, she wasn't wanted here, why should she stay? What was odd was, that one morning. That morning she thought this, she woke up from her sleep. And there perched on a branch was a single plain white dove, but that dove sang the most beautiful song. That plain white dove had it in her, and she was there every morning to brighten Morningdove's day. But then, that dove dissappered, and didn't come back. She had found a mate, and was ready for her own new life, one so small yet plain had found what. Made her special, her song.
One winter day Morningdove decided she would leave. Venture on to what the Winnows' had no interest in, the other worlds. She'd explore them, stay there, learn and experiance all the new things! It was a wonderful plan, she would leave that night.
That night when Morningfeather turned towards the vast plains she wa surprised to see what awaited her. Running head on into Aquatear the stumbled back in a mass pile of fluffy fur. She scrambled to her hooves and shook the dust from her fur. She huffed at Aquatear and demanded to be letthrough. Aquatear shook her head and all the other young Winnows' appeared. Slinking out from the grass, their beds, trees, and bushes. They all stood before her heads high but eyes sad and sorry. Morningdove didn't want their sympathy, she stomped get hooves angerly and looked down at the white powder on the ground. As she shifted her position the snow gently crumbled under her weight. Her shy nature returning she ducked her head again to try and get away from the stares.
Moments and moments passed, nothing happened. Everyone was still and Morningdove was about ready to demand to leave again. That's when she heard it, the gentle grunting of the snow underneath the weight, the brush of the grass where fur scraped past, the gently breathing of another individual. She felt the soft billowing of breath rising into white puffs by her ear. Then she felt a gently nudge to her shoulder, a playful nudge to be exact. She jerked her head up surprised by the gesture and whipped around to face the ouscast from the others. There before her stood another Willow, her age and with a snow white Coat. He stood there tall and proud yet had playful ness in his eyes, and best of all no sympathy. Morningdove's eyes brightened and she returned the gesture and raced after him as he took off for a chase. The others followed miraculously, each one forgetting their differences, each one taking a change, and each one taking a chance. MorningDove overcame her shyness amoung others, she enjoyed the brush of fur beside her and and playful gestures. She still envied others for their fur, she did finally accept herself. But to this day, that one white male Winnow is still her companion, but he is stubborn and a fun one. He hasn't told her his name, she is still to guess it. And when she reaches the age of 5 he will tell her if she hadn't guessed already. Aquatear has fully become aware again of Morningdove, though the two friends did drift apart slightly.
The most important lesson Morningdove had learned that day was, everyone is different. Each individual is different, each one is unique. Though they may not like each other, when the snow melts to water they are all alike. They are all the same, but each still has that one thing that makes them special. Just like that white dove. Though she seemed plain, ordinary and small she had the most beautiful song compared to the other larger and grey white dove's. She learned to accept herself and to stay with the others, and she's proud of er fur no matter what others say. Now MorningDove tells her tale to the younger Winnows', each one listens intently and never forgets a word. But ocassionally, that one white Winnow will change the tale, which makes Morningdove laugh and push him away to tell the story right.
