History: Ethan has a very dark history. His mother was furious at the pack she was in for denying her help; she had left before she had given birth. She lived in a cold damp cave and gave birth to Ethan. She never fed him, however; he was weaned by himself after his first and last nursing. He nearly died repeatedly, and his mother didn't care; she felt as if it was all his fault. Eventually she had became sick; Ethan gave her most of the food he had found in the thick snow without caring if he didn't get a thank you. Despite his efforts she soon died, rage in her eyes as they glared at Ethan. Soon her eyes died and Ethan was.. Alone. He tried desperately to survive, digging with cracked hooves for the scant grass. He forced himself to survive until next spring, where he went to find another herd. Instead, they found him. The leader, a gentle kind male, invited him, and he had lived happily ever since.

Name: Zane

History: Zane's childhood was all well and good, full of frolicking around with his brother and sister winnows, until something very strange happened. Zane was wandering around the forest at night when he saw shadows moving. These shadows were human. He knew something was wrong, because the humans were headed for his home, and humans never go to their home. As far as Zane knew, all humans were friendly. These didn't look like it. They were carrying their thunder-sticks. The ones that killed. Zane didn't want to know what they were up to, but he thought he should warn his family. But the humans had gotten there first, corralling his family towards the back of the den. Zane was about to give a warning when it happened. Simultaneously, the humans fired, and his parents dropped to the ground. Next were his siblings. Then the hunters turned, and seemed to look directly at Zane. He ran. Zane ran without looking back. He didn't want to know if the humans were following him, did not want to find out what would happen if he stopped to catch his breath. So he ran. Once he felt safe, he collapsed and fell asleep. He was awoken by the sound of voices. Familiar voices. The voices of his mother and father and siblings. Ever since that day, they haunt Zane, coming to him at the most inconvenient times.
