Well, Maybe I can help C: I enjoy drawing MLP characters.

Well, I see how they make the head, and the body, and legs, etc. The nose, is more catish, ponies noses are like this, look at Pinkie's, for example. The head is more of a circular oval, and the eyes, you can see how many light glints they have, and thickness of pupil also.

The wings are a little different also, Look at Rainbow Dash's wings,


Here's fluttershy, Note: Her eyes are different than other, such as Rarity's and Twilight's. Pinkie Pie and AppleJack's eyes are alike.

I'd get started by just observing a picture of one, but remember, no tracing

Thank you, I made lots of layers on overlay of different colors. I started with a base purple and then shaded with watercolor, but sloshed some blue and dark purple on there as well. I'm glad it suits your fancy, it was something new for me!!
