Art or Short Story:
The snow is almost a blinding white as I stand ahead of all the dogs, and as I am being hooked up to the sled I turn and lick my human's face.
He quickly wipes away the dog spit, and I deflate a bit, but I pretend it's no big deal as he hooks up the other dogs.
I turn and bark at him. This has gone on too long. If we are to win, we must start now! Doesn't this dim-witted human understand that? Of course not. I hate getting new humans, it's always so difficult to train them.
He huffs at me, and I don't understand it, but I bark once again, a short snap at him, and he sighs and gets on the sled. I let loose a small howl, and I begin to run, putting all my strength into my shoulders. This human is particularly heavy, and the other dogs are having a hard time as well. We continue to run, though, and we finally get going.
We build up some speed, and now the sled slides along smoothly, and we have to put little effort, even on the hills. Running, always running, until we are here. We are at the starting line.
Many other sled teams are there, and I see many dogs I know. I don't focus on that, though, and only focus on my human's commands. A noise goes off, and he tells me to run, so I run.
And that is all that matters.
