Well.. Once again I fail. I need to start looking at references or my anatomy will never get any better, lol
So here are two coyote/bird hybrids, they were both created in a lab to see if fusing bird DNA with another animal was possible, they are one of several tests that precede experimentation on humans. They were not, however, born in the same litter and are not related, but are considered sisters. They take care of each other <3
The one with wings is one outcome, although wings are not the ultimate goal. The goal is to attain the long lifespan of a bird, to increase the time we have here to live on Earth. Anyway, she is older by a few months and although winged, cannot fly, this may have to do with the fact that her wings have not grown out enough, or they are not strong enough to lift her heavy (compared to a bird, anyway) canine body, whose bones are not hollow. It may be that she might be able to achieve flight when she is full grown, as scientists are unsure to whether or not her wings will grow as she does.
Before I go any further I just want to say that these characters are based of a book by James Patterson and no, it isn't part of the Maximum ride series (which I have not read.) The book is called When the wind blows, and it was a fantastic read <3
The younger pup laying down is another outcome, she has no wings, but feathers that sprout from her shoulders and lowerback/base of her tail. She is somewhat more timid, and communicates in high pitched chirps and whistles, as well as canine sounds such as growling, barking, and whining. She is also blind, a failed experiment in the eyes of her creators.
Here's the first picture I did of the blind pup: viewtopic.php?f=33&t=1125569 I'm not so sure about the markings and colors yet. And I haven't decided what the winged ones will look like.
Edit: Colored it in! I did it with the water tool I think it looks awesome <3 For now the winged female will be black, and I may or may not edit the other pups design, what do you guys think?
