lol yeah. i don't see why the lock alpha doesn't work for you. have you tried it? you click the little box that saws lock alpha then you can color on the color here lines.

yeah what you do is lock the alpha layer then go to a layer that says something about the color then use the pen tool and just color. The lock alpha allows you to color without going outside the lines.
