Another character for my story
A Soul-Keeper works to keep the souls of the dead from leaving the Forest of Souls, the place Spirit-Wardens bring the deceased. Most of the souls are happy to remain there forever, leaping and bounding about in the trees that have left the realm of the living and have passed into the Forest of Souls, providing a wonderful home for the spirits of the wolves that have passed through their life. They race around the borders, keeping the souls safe from any demons that may attempt to enter the Forest of Souls, as well as keeping the souls inside of the Forest. Soul-Keepers themselves have died and passed on to the next realm, normally being Gaurdians while they were alive. Though an occasional soul does manage to slip past them, most do not dare to attempt it, as even after passing the Soul-Keeper they must then wander through the Void, an empty space of air that seperates the realm of the living from the Forest. Some souls are brought back by the Soul-Keeper, terrorized by the empty air that they lay suspended in, while others have the will and strength to push through the Void and again enter the realm of the living.
