Mare's Registered Name:
GGEC's Chocolate Chip Kisses on Cherry Sundaes
Mare's Nickname:
Cece
Reason behind Name:
I chose her name because GGEC is the name of my model horse stables* and her coat reminds me of a cherry sundae (not just because she's a cherry bay lol) and her appy blanket reminds me of chocolate chips on the whipped cream topping on the cherry sundae.
Mare's Size:
12.3 hh
Mare's Breed:
Appaloosa X American Quarter Horse
Mare's Personality:
Cece is a very jumpy mare. She might be perfectly calm one minute but spook at nothing the next. When she's not frightened she is a very sweet mare, gentle and willing to please but most times that only lasts when she's with Skylar, her owner and trainer.
Mare's History:
Early Years:
Cece had great bloodlines, her father was a great barrel racer and her mother a great broodmare. For the first few months of her life Cece was stuck to her mother's side like glue, only leaving it for the occasional exploring. Her life was almost perfect until on the day she became a yearling, her and her mother were separated and sent to auctions because their farm was losing money and they needed to sell many of their horses. Cece and her mother were separated immediately that day and pulled unwillingly into their trailers.
The first owner:
After being lead into the ring, Cece was almost immediately snatched up by a lady in the crowd and the bidding began. She paced around for about fifteen minutes before she was lead back to her pen and then taken by a lady into a trailer. She was scared at first, not knowing where she would be going but when the trailer stopped and she was pulled out, a beautiful stable surrounding her, many horses grazing in their paddocks sticking their heads out of the stalls they were in. A man came and took her to her new stall, next to a gelding called "Drama Queen's King" or King. They became great friends quickly and Cece learned to like her new home. Her owner, Callie, trained her to be a barrel racer, making sure that she always had the time for a nice trail ride to cool her down afterwards. But, all good things must come to an end. Callie was diagnosed with cancer and was forced to sell her horses to pay for the medical bills that her husband was having trouble managing with all their other bills. Ads were put in the local papers and horses were shipped off to auctions.
The Second Owner:
And Ad in the local paper was showing off a picture of a beautiful young appaloosa mare and of course, Cece was snatched away from all she knew again and brought to a new home, only this time it wasn't a nice stable with many horses. It was a small property with barbed wire fences and an old shack with a small tack room and doorless stall. It wasn't the nicest of places but Cece managed to survive. Her new owner, a young boy called Daren who had no clue how to treat an animal with kindness. Sure he would ride Cece almost every day but he would whip her bloody when he got mad at her. Leaving her tack on for long periods of time also. So when she was scarred and practically starved, Daren finally sent her off to an auction. She knew she'd probably only be sent to slaughter so when Savannah Farms bought her, she wasn't sure what to think.
Savannah Farm:
Once the trailer pulled into the stables, Cece was beginning to think that all this moving was annoying. She wasn't the same as she had once been. Her spirit had been torn to pieces. She would glare wearily at the other horses being led to their new homes or their stalls. Hoping for her turn. Finally, one spring day, Cece was shipped off to Idaho.
New Life:
In Idaho, Cece's new owner, Skylar, took good care of her, working to get her in good shape before training her in show jumping. Now, the story just needs to continue.
