SOPA is an U.S government bill that was supposed to be passed on the 24th. It stands for Stop Online Piracy Act. It would allow the U.S. government to block Americans from sites that infringed copyrights. SOPA and it's sister bill, PIPA, were 'cancelled' until the government could work out the 'loopholes'.
