Lyonface's Foot Tutorial

Postby LyonFace » Tue Jan 24, 2012 9:30 am

This is the companion of the tutorial that I posted yesterday on hands that can be found here! Getting to the point where I could draw good feet and replicate them was a difficult road, and still serves to be in many ways, especially as I get better at animals and have to learn the incredible differences between the two. As the hand tutorial, my text is almost impossible to read, so I'll type it out for you.

Farewell Feet!

"Feet are the other difficult extremities to draw correctly. While hands are mostly flat, feet have and odd arched structure that can be hard to reproduce from different angles."

Incorrect Feet:

1. There is too little arch in this foot as well as the sole and heel being connected. All of these toes are about the same length as well.

2. The heels and sole visibly seperate but the toes form a blunt triangle. Most beginners create triangles.

3. The arch is too high, but the worst is the toes. They are similar to the toes in Naruto, facing down.

Bottom Section with Examples:

To the left are the same examples. I apologize for their size. As you can see, feet change their appearance when the angles change, sometimes drastically. Don't forget to practice and use references!

If you want any kind of elaboration on the rather small tutorial or have any questions, feel free to post them. :)
