Rabitfur nodded, resuming his normal expression. Not being ... well, cranky was decent. He was still doing work, after all. They only spiced it up a little, while being productive all the same. But then a thought occurred to him and he looked away in thought. Supose they didn't find anything when they got there. ... What would they tell the Clan? Having a break from all the worries was nice, but he couldn't allow himself to forget the real reason they were here. The real reason ... Wildflight was here. ... They were only doing their duties, after all.

Wildflight gave the other a curious look. He couldn't quite tell what Rabbitfur was feeling but he knew it wasn't anything positive. "Do you...Not want to go back?" He asked as a guess to what the warrior was thinking about, "We could go for a hunt instead if you want." In truth, the deputy wasn't all so eager about returning himself. There had been so much fighting at camp as of late and at least the forest was calming. And he would most likely be alone again stuck just watching the clan as he so often did. As he waited for a response, the long legged feline began inspecting this border just as he had the others. He still got absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. Perhaps he missed something though that Rabbitfr might yet find.

Rabbitfur tensed, hearing Wildflight had taken notice of his shift of mood.
"Wildflight... There's nothing here. There wasn't anything at the past borders, and there's nothing at this one." Just to be sure, he checked all fern clumps within the area, examined several weed patches growing wherever the sun broke through the tree tops overhead, and anxiously, but thoroughly sniffed at all the trees. Nothing. "When we return to camp, everyone will be anxious that nothing had been discovered. With Stripestar so invested in his kits and determined to find out just what it was that killed Mousekit, the Clan will become a mess." He didn't want to doubt the deputy's ability to handle this , but even he knew that running a Clan single-pawed would be near impossible. He began to pace, his claws unsheathing and digging into the earth with each pawstep. They couldn't return to camp only to tell everyone there wasn't anything out there. But they couldn't not return, or the Clan may think something happened to them, or worse yet, think they were involved with whatever happened to poor Mousekit. He clenched his jaws, tail lashing furiously .

Wildflight gave a heavy sigh and slowly shook his head. He knew Rabbitfur was right but that was part of the reason he didn't want to return. Could he make up for Stripestar's absence or would he only mess things up? Self-doubt was fairly unusual for the typically confident deputy but when it came to being in charge of the lives of others he worried. He quickly shoved those thought to the back of his mind when he realized how wound up Rabbitfur was himself. "I do not think anyone is relying on us to come back with all the answers." He said in an attempt to soothe the other tom's obviously frayed nerves, "Cats might not even realize we were gone. I will report what we found to Stripestar and we will come up with another plan of action." Wildflight didn't want Rabbitfur, or any of his clan mates, to have to worry about this. He was the deputy. It was supposed to be his job, along with the help of his leader, to come up with the solution to problems so the others cats wouldn't have to. He had to put his personal problems and feelings behind him so he could do his job. Wildflight knew this to be a fact now.

Petaldrop purred and laid in a tree, drowsily swirling her tail around.

Mistyclaw yawned and looked around. Where was Pikeflower? She wanted to see him.

Foxpelt sat by the warrior's den and groomed himself.

Darkswift looks over at him then flicks his tail. He mews. "Why are you still up here?" He looks at her then his ear flatten as he let out a small sigh.

Cloudgaze
Cloudgaze purred as she groomed the stray kitten One-eye had brought back. At this point it smelled no different from any other clan kit but it was still obvious this wasn't any of the queens' kits.

Pikeflower
Pikeflower slipped into the nursery just as Mistyclaw woke up. It was as if he had been watching and waiting for her to wake...Which he had been. He dropped a plump looking robin at her paws and before sitting down.
