personality:asha is good. a lot of words can describe her, and a lot of those words would be accurate too; protective, intelligent, warm- but the overlapping element the word 'good' has fits her like a puzzle piece does a puzzle. just because she's good, though, doesn't mean she lacks an iron backbone and a fierce willpower. she's not submissive, she fights for what she believes in, and she works hard to keep her moral compass in check. sometimes, on her bad days, she'll stray outside of her box, but she tries her hardest to stay good and pure and untainted by the blackness of the world. she protects those she loves in any way possible- though she tries to keep violence on the down low. she refuses to give up on anybody, and believes that no matter how many chances you may have had, you're never too far gone. she'll be a friend if you need one, she'll be your sight for sore eyes when you're lost and down, and she'll be there for anyone who needs her to, no matter what they may have done to her, or the kind of person or horse they've proven themselves to be.

relationship with undyneasha has a love hate relationship with undyne. he's one of her parents, and she'll always harbor love for him, but she feels like they're not the same. they've never been exceptionally close, and maybe part of this is because asha is always away- exploring the world and adventuring on her own, but she thinks partially it's because neither of them have put in the effort to become as close as he may be with her siblings. she has never thought of undyne as evil, she doesn't even think of her skeleton-marked siblings as evil, despite the fact that their souls may be rotting, but she never thought of him as good either. she's not one to give up on anybody, because the terms 'good' and 'evil' are so arbitrary and open for perception, and they're so unbelievably limiting it's hard to breathe when you're pegged as one or the other. she doesn't think anyone or anything that has a conscious is inherently good or inherently evil. they are, as the saying goes, human. of course asha is not technically a part of the human species, but a complicated nature of both good and evil is often most closely associated with humans. she thinks they should be associated with everything. she has the capacity to be evil, just like she thinks undyne does, and she also has the capacity to be good. if she had to peg her father as one or the other, she would think that he would fall closer to the evil category. as far as she can tell, she gets her protective streak from him, but there's something about him that screams unhealthy dominance and dictatorship and 'no room for compromise'. perhaps she's being too stereotypical, by pegging intimidating on those who are considered evil, but it's something she can't help. maybe it's because she's never seen herself as particularly intimidating. she hopes that maybe one day she'll grow closer to her father, or that they'll be able to kindle a strong relationship with one another, and while she remains optimistic, she doesn't know if it's possible. she won't give up though, she never would. there's something dissatisfying about admitting defeat, and though kindling a true father-daughter relationship with undyne would be quite a bridge to cross, she believes with every fibre of her being that they can do it.

relationship with other parentasha may say that she's distant from her father, but she's even more distant from her other father, sundown. it's not that they don't have anything in common, it's not that at all, but she's never actually seen sundown as a fatherly figure, or someone she can turn to without hesitation. she hasn't given up on their relationship, but she doesn't think it'll ever cross into the territory of father-daughter. she loves sundown, in the sense that she would love any parents of hers, but she distances herself from him even more so than undyne. she's never admitted this to herself, but something about parents make her uneasy. she doesn't understand it, but ever since she was a filly it was the way it felt. maybe it's the power they hold, the air of authority- she doesn't know. all she knows is that they hardly seem like the same species to her sometimes. she tends to hang out with sundown more than she does undyne, but they don't bone. they coexist with each other, they even share a few laughs every now and then. their relationship is much more closer to being that of friends than a father and daughter. asha is sometimes troubled by her lack of parental attachments, though she rarely shows it. She thinks it's for the better, because her life and her values are such delicate things. she doesn't need them getting disrupted by outside forces, like her parents, that she cannot control.

your relationship with the foalthere's something about asha that unnerves me. i can't quite put my finger on why that is, i think she has a heart of solid gold and is about the kindest creature i've ever come across, but there's something unearthly to her goodness. i almost want to say angelic, but because my worst fear is being cheesy when talking about something i hold as dear as her, i'll think of better way to explain it. she's no an angel, she's too fierce for that. but she's fierce in this way that's gentle all at the same time. she'd protect anyone she loves with fire and blood, and she would bring about the destruction of this world for them if she had to, i guarantee it, but it's in the way she looks at you, with those soulful eyes- you can tell she doesn't love death, or destruction. you can tell she loves and she learns and she takes this world in stride and she tries so hard to stay true to herself and to her moral compass that sometimes it looks like it's tearing her apart on the inside. sometimes, it makes me sad, to see her like that. i don't think she even realizes it yet. i know she's just a horse, they're always just a horse, and you can tell me all you want that she doesn't feel like humans do, or understand like we do, but she does. i can see it. there's something deeper to her than
just a horse. i don't know if she cares about me in the same way that i care about her, or if she appreciates me like i do her, but i hope so. i can tell with the way that she interacts with the other trainers and the other horses that she's compassionate, i don't think she'd step on a fly on purpose, but like i said- there's something almost unnerving about it all. i hope that she does know i care for her though, she doesn't seem to have a lot of people or horses that she's close with. i think that might be the thing, you know. she's so friendly, she's so warm, she's so protective and compassionate towards everything, but nothing ever returns that same love for her. i can tell. i think behind her soulful eyes there's loneliness. and again, i don't think she even realizes it yet.
