Better Than A Boyfriend

Postby P0CKETKNIFE » Mon Jul 28, 2014 6:48 am

show name: Better Than A Boyfriend
    barn name: Marco
    gender: Gelding, unable to breed.
    age: Roughly 13 years.
    sire: Foundation
    dam: Foundation
    discipline: Three day eventing
personality: In the show ring, Marco has years of experience and is able to tolt his way to victory in nearly any circumstance. His smooth gates make him easy to ride, and his attentiveness means he'll always hear your commands. However, he's not a beginner horse and doesn't appreciate being pushed around. For example, If you don't know how to ask him to canter properly, he'll most likely buck and throw you into the rail. The same can be said for the rest of his gates, so you always need to be gentle when dealing with him. Otherwise, this perfect show horse might just become a raging bull.

Forgotten Fairytale

Postby P0CKETKNIFE » Mon Jul 28, 2014 8:44 am

    show name: Forgotten Fairytale
    barn name: Romeo
    gender: Stallion
    age: Roughly 6 years
    sire: Foundation
    dam: Foundation
    discipline: Show jumping
personality: Being a rather young horse, Romeo has plenty of energy which allows him to leap over fences at lightning speed. Originally, the plan was for him to show in the hunter ring, but instead of jumping gracefully, he refused to slow down and tore around the arena at record speeds. Even with hours of lunging beforehand, he still blew through every fence in front of him. Because of his little habit, he's become more of an advanced horse. Don't get me wrong, he loves children and will gladly walk them around. It's just that when you get him any faster than that, he'll automatically assume he's in the middle of a galloping race. Aside from his speeds, Romeo's an extremely friendly horse and loves to be around people. The same can be said for other horses, for he's always trying to make friends in the field.

Behind the Scenes

Postby P0CKETKNIFE » Mon Jul 28, 2014 9:00 am

    show name: Behind the Scenes
    barn name: Seer
    gender: Gelding
    age: Roughly 9 years
    sire: Foundation
    dam: Foundation
    discipline: Cross country
personality: Seer is one of the more relaxed horses at Northfield, and is never willing to do more than he has to. Because of this, he's pretty easy to ride as long as you put in a bit of extra effort to keep him moving. Formerly, he was a pasture horse and had little experience under saddle, so he required a bit of training to get him used to being ridden. Throughout the process, his calm and relaxed demeanor has made him a pleasure to ride. He also shows a surprising amount of confidence which is part of the reason he shows in cross country. He's careful over fences, and has a sturdy build which allows him to clear them. Despite his usual stubbornness, he's extremely willing to jump over obstacles as long as you can trust him to make it.

Carolina Rose

Postby P0CKETKNIFE » Tue Jul 29, 2014 12:42 am

    show name: Carolina Rose
    barn name: Carolina
    gender: Mare
    age: Roughly 11 years
    sire: Foundation
    dam: Foundation
    discipline: Dressage
personality: Carolina is an attentive listener like Marco, but not nearly as extreme. As long as you're polite when asking, she'll take any command without putting up a fight. However, she'll refuse to move at all if you just beat her with the crop constantly. While it's rare for her to buck, but she still can if you irritate her to a certain extent. In fact, the best thing you can do when she refuses is to give her a short break and then ask again in a less harsh way. She also likes to have reign when she's being ridden, and if it's not given she'll throw her head up and take it. For that reason, you have to be careful to keep her loose, yet contained in the dressage ring so that she doesn't make a scene. When she's not showing, however, Carolina is a rather secluded mare and doesn't fancy being around other horses. She won't deny their company, but she'll still pin her ears and walk away if they annoy her.

Capture The Moment

Postby P0CKETKNIFE » Mon Aug 11, 2014 1:21 pm

    show name: Capture The Moment
    barn name: Minnie
    gender: Mare
    age: Roughly 4 years
    sire: Theseus
    dam: Carolina rose
    discipline: Dressage
personality: Minnie is a fairly young horse, and still has plenty to learn before she can enter the show ring. During her little training sessions, however, she demonstrates the potential to be a dressage horse like her mother and that's currently what she's being prepared for. Surprisingly, she does not carry her mothers temper and is known to be very low maintenance towards vets and farriers alike. She also has no problems being with other horses and actually seems to enjoy the company of others. Even so, she can sometimes be a bit shy and often waits for other horses to approach her before she interacts with them.

Golden Glory

Postby P0CKETKNIFE » Mon Aug 11, 2014 2:00 pm

Image

    show name: Golden Glory
    barn name: Honey
    gender: Stallion
    age: 2 years
    sire: Hyperion
    dam: Carolina Rose
    future discipline: Show jumping
personality: It's hard to tell much about this little colt, as he's yet to be ridden under saddle. However, it's still possible to pick up some traits of his personality. His most noticeable, and endearing, characteristic is by far his confident nature. He's not afraid to venture from his dam, despite her overprotective attitude, and he's already started standing up to some of the older foals in the pasture. This has led to a few mini fights, although nothing can get too serious with all of the frantic mothers watching over them.

Burning Ember

Postby P0CKETKNIFE » Mon Aug 11, 2014 3:05 pm

    show name: Burning Ember
    barn name: Ember
    gender: Mare
    age: Roughly 7 years
    sire: Foundation
    dam: Foundation
    discipline: Three day eventing
personality: Although Ember has fantastic potential, she's extremely discreet and hard to handle. She doesn't appreciate other horses either, so it's best to keep her isolated in order to avoid fights. Even in her stall, she'll pin her ears back and attempt to bite the horse next door if boredom strikes. It's not that she's aggressive, although it's easy to call her that, she's simply intimidated by other horses and feels the need to assert herself. Even if the situation doesn't call for it. It's the same with her riders, and if she's not used to your company then she's not going to be easy to control. From the moment you mount her, to the moment you get off, she's bound to keep you alert and on your toes.

Royal Regret

Postby P0CKETKNIFE » Tue Aug 12, 2014 3:48 am

    show name: Royal Regret
    barn name: Roy
    gender: Stallion
    age: Roughly 8 years
    sire: Foundation
    dam: Foundation
    discipline: Hunter Jumper
personality: Roy is extremely flamboyant, constantly prancing through the fields trying to draw as much attention as possible. He's also elegant, and in the show ring he can clear nearly any fence without flaw. However, he can occasionally become overconfident and put in a bit less effort than he needs to. This is one of his greatest flaws, for it commonly causes him to underestimate the size of the fence. Aside from his show life, Roy usually flirts with mares in the other fields and tries to establish dominance over the other stallions. This has led him to develop constant minor injuries from messing with the wrong studs. And although he hardly ever wins these fights, he's far to determined to quit.

Aftershock

Postby P0CKETKNIFE » Wed Aug 20, 2014 10:49 am

Image

    show name: Aftershock
    barn name: Flare
    gender: Stallion
    age: Roughly 6 years
    sire: Foundation
    dam: Foundation
    discipline: Undetermined
personality: Flare has quite the character, and is always an interesting horse to ride. He was originally though to become a great show horse due to his low temperament and high tolerance, but it was quickly noted that his gaits were anything but exceptional. During the canter, he leans forward and is excruciatingly top-heavy, and his trot is bouncy and uncomfortable. Because of this, he's usually ridden only in lessons or the occasional in-house show. Despite his lack of showing talent, he is still a very lovable horse and is great with both people and other horses alike. Often times, he can be found making friends in the pasture, or bouncing around with some poor rider on his back. Either way, you've got to love him.
