personality
Asterisk has a condition called dissociative identity disorder (multiple personality disorder).
He therefore has a split, and quite contradicting personality. he is actually split into two
direct egos. Asterisk is the real, correct, and main ego. While a shadowy, negative ego,
named Sirius, plagues Asterisk's life.
Asterisk is sweet, gentle and kind. He loves making friends and causing others' to laugh. He is
creative and fun, and can always lift someone's spirits. He can find ways to make the most
ugliest of jobs, fun and quick. He is quite optimistic. Asterisk is also very smart. He isn't the
strongest or most athletic of boys, and prefers to study and share his knowledge, rather than
compete in physical activities. He is competitive, though! He loves friendly competitions of the
mental sort.
Sirius is quite the opposite. He is like an evil Asterisk. He is argumentative, violent, and
extremely irrational. Sirius shows up whenever Asterisk feels threatened, nervous, or angry.
Sirius is uncontrollable, and only subsides when whatever triggered him has passed, either by
the defeat of the "enemy" or someone taking the initiative of calming him down before he starts
a riot. Sirius also seems to gain immense strength, which no one believes is possible, because
Asterisk can't do anything requiring muscle.

family relationships
Reconnaissance
Asterisk loves playing with his mother. He finds her fun and spontaneous. He likes her rebellious, adventurous side, even though he does not share it. He takes comfort in her, especially back when he was first diagnosed with DID after a few outbursts of Sirius. He is thankful to her for always being there, and helping him to control his temper, and therefore Sirius.
Derico
Asterisk looks up to his father strongly. He wants to be just like him, strong, protective and smart. Asterisk hopes that by making up for his lack of strength and his flawed personality through intelligence, he can impress his father. He hopes that he can be just as mannerly, intelligent and brave as his father some day.
Sven
Asterisk loves playing with his brother, but his brother beats him in most things, and therefore triggers Sirius. Sirius has hurt Sven before, and Asterisk is afraid of hurting his brother again, so he avoids playing with Sven. It hurts Asterisk more than Sven, though Sven is suffering too, but Asterisk hopes that once he can fully control Sirius, he'll be able to mend the broken relationship.
Aunt Ambrosia
Asterisk's favourite visitor is his aunt. He loves when she comes over because she is really fun and spirited. He loves to play games with her and she's always helpful in cleaning up messes caused by Sirius. Asterisk speculates that Aunt Ambrosia may actually love him just as much as his parents do. For that he is really grateful. Ambrosia is almost his only friend because he is normally rejected due to Sirius.✱ ✱ ✱
asterisk's journal
---------------------e n t r y # 5 7
Today is my 5th birthday. Daddy said turning 5 is really special. He says that today I'll become someone new, I won't be a baby anymore. I start school this year, because I'm ahead. I guess that's what he means. I'm a little nervous, but I still have all summer with my family. For my birthday I want a remote control car. Mommy knows. I hope she got me one. I'm about to go downstairs. Sven is already downstairs, he wants a car too! Maybe if we both get one we can race! I'm going to put you away for now, and I'll come back after I've opened my presents! :)
Later...
What just happened?! I didn't do anything! I would never! I didn't mean to! Oh... journal... something awful just happened to me! I don't know what happened! I mean... Mommy didn't get me a car for my birthday, but she did get Sven one. Instead she got me a stuffed animal... a rabbit. I was so upset, it was the first time I felt real anger. But... I tried to keep it inside! Then it all went black... When I woke up Sven was sobbing with Mommy hugging him, his car lying, broken, on the floor. It was really wrecked. I asked what happened and then Daddy glared at me and yelled at me! He said what I had done was unacceptable! What had I done? I lost consciousness, I didn't know what happened! It was like some demon took over my body! Mommy looked at me and I nearly cried... I never saw her look that way! It was appalled, sheer disappointment. She scolded me and sent me up here. I don't know what happened... why won't they hear me out?e n t r y # 7 2-------------------------------
It happened again. Ms. Sameon reported my "outburst" to my parents again. This time it was a bratty little girl. She took my sandwich and threw it in the garbage. Who knew that school kids could be such jerks! I mean, we're only in the first grade! It went black pretty much after she stole my lunch from my hands. When I woke up I was sitting in the principal's office and the girl was with the nurse. It was the third time this week it happened. Why doesn't anyone believe I'm not causing all this trouble? Daddy came to pick me up today. He didn't look or speak to me on the way home. I ran out of the car as soon as it parked in the driveway, crying as I ran up the stairs. I nearly ran into Mommy as I ran into my room and slammed the door. I heard her sigh as Daddy walked up to her and told her what happened. It was quiet for a bit. Then Mommy came into the room.‷"Asterisk. Please come out from under your bed." Recon requested with a gentle and motherly voice. Asterisk sobbed before crawling out, with tears in his eyes. "Honey, what's wrong?" Recon asked. Asterisk rubbed his eyes. "No one believes me!" "About what, dear?" "About how I'm not doing any of this!" Asterisk cried out. "Hush sweetie. Tell me what happened." Recon caressed Asterisk gently. Asterisk sobbed again before blurting out what happened.‴
The next day, Mommy took me to the doctor. She explained to him that I was having outbursts of extreme violence whenever I get angry, flustered or nervous. He was confused, but decided to test the theory by giving me a lollipop and then taking it away and throwing it out. What came next I don't know. It went black. When I came to, Mommy looked at me lovingly and the doctor told me that I had a rare dissorder that causes me to have an "alternate ego" to appear. He said that my "other me" was causing all the damage and outbursts. I'm seeing a psychiatrist now... Journal... I have multiple personality disorder.✱ ✱ ✱
