What's a salmon dog?

A salmon dog is a dog about the same size as a shiba inu with a salmon tail and a salmon on its head. They are excellent swimmers,
and their salmon never leaves their body unless they are in the water. The salmon on their head and the salmon dog's tail always
match, and if either one gets hurt or dies, the other does, too. Salmon dogs cannot survive for more than an hour on land. They
are carnivores and feed on small invertebrates, fish, and squid.

Rules

• Respect all staff and members included in the species.
• You may only own up to four salmon dogs.
• No mini-modding. Me and my moderators will take care of it.
• Don't add items without asking the artist. Please don't put hair on your salmon dog either [where would you put it, anyways?].
• Don't ask to be staff or ask if we do customs. Customs are for staff and special members only.
• Salmon dogs can't be your fursona. Maybe it can have similar interests to you and such, but it can't actually be your fursona.
• Don't trade or sell your salmon dog. You can give it away or give it back, but you must contact mousier or the artist first.

• If you want to give back your salmon dog for adoption, message the original artist.
• Gifting/trading/selling your salmon dog without permission will result in a permanent ban from the species.

About Salmon Dogs

Salmon dogs and their fish grow at the same rate. Babies and children usually have little eggs or a very small salmon on their heads,
teenagers have salmon about halfway full-grown, and adults have full-grown salmon on their heads.

Common Items

Salmon dogs sometimes are found with fish hooks stuck on their tongues and fishing line on their paws. They are skilled at stealing
bait from hooks, but sometimes they mess up and end up with a hook in their tongue. Salmon dogs often get tangled in fishing line
and nets, too, so occasionally you might see one with some netting or line stuck on their fins or paws.

Uncommon Items

Anything not related to fishing is considered an uncommon item. Things like scarves, bracelets, and necklaces are acquired from
finding them randomly and by human contact, which is rare because salmon dogs don't like humans.

Body Details

Salmon dogs have soft fur, very similar to a beaver's, that keeps them comfortable in all temperatures and keeps their skin dry
even when they're underwater. Their lungs are developed for trips underwater for up to an hour. They usually keep close to water
resources to keep their salmon alive and well. Salmon dogs usually stay in the water for up to days and resurface once every hour,
and can go on land, but can't be separated from their salmon too long or else they will become ill and die. On hot days, salmon
dogs usually stay in the water to keep from their fish and their tails from drying out. They see just as well underwater as they do
on land. Their paws are webbed, and help them significantly when swimming.

Habitat

Salmon dogs commonly live along the coasts of both the Pacific and North Atlantic Oceans, as well as the Great Lakes of North
America. But they can live anywhere in the world as long as it's near water.

Coloration

Salmon dogs are commonly natural colors, but can be unnatural ones as well. The salmon and the salmon dog's tail are always the
same design. The salmon and salmon dog's tail do not necessarily need to be based off of a real salmon - they can be be based
off of other types of fish, animals, and different unnatural things as well.
