respect someone
when they don't respect
the way you are

Everyone has their own
"fate"
to follow,
why should I care about others
when I have my own?

I'm perfection.
What else could you call me
but a perfect being?

Rules exist for us to break

No spider shares their prey
So why should I?

What's with reasoning
when nothing make sense?
Why bother listening
when you should just go out
and do what you will?

This side of life, fear
I give to you
Afterall, what is life without fear?

Are they a sign of royalty?

Or are they the graffiti
of those who rebel?

Adonis is my homeland. Or at least, it was where I spent my childhood.

On some cold nights where storytellers gathered, you would hear the story of Adonis, the city which once flourished and prospered like all those other great kingdoms. They say a thousand merchants would travel far across the great plains and over the magnificent mountains to get to Adonis each day. Even if they did not sell, the sight of the spiraled structure was said to be enough to bring tears to one’s eyes.

Most of us believed it to be legend

The city has long closed its gates. Pile after pile of rubble sealing the entrance shut, never to open again. The Forest Wyvern guarding the entrance is said to be in an everlasting sleep, never to allow another soul in, or another one out.
I saw it once, the forest wyvern, coiled up in its small den embedded in the gate. It seemed no different than a guarding golem, doomed to forever stare out into emptiness and barren land which now surrounded the once green plains.

Many would call me lucky; in these times of suffering, I was born into a high class family. Our house- no, mansion was one of the largest, and walled off from the world outside. I lived in the west wing, with a large bed to sleep on and uncountable dolls to sleep with. There is a balcony which overlooked part of the road outside, and there is a bell tower, but it no longer rang. Even then, no birds came to perch on my windowsill. From my balcony I could see a small bakery, but it was closed a long time ago. I saw the dirt road, once covered in silver, but all the metal had been stolen. I saw party banners, they were no longer used. It eventually fell onto the floor sometime in my teenage years, and it simply to merged as part of the dirt floor.

It rained here, often, but even then it did not feel cooler, or even wet.
The rain never washed away the emptiness, it only brought in loneliness.

The sun would shine on strange days, but it never felt hot.
I don't think I ever saw the light, even when there was no cloud.

To me, the city was a shade of dull grey. Nothing would change no matter the season. Everyone was still sad, still tired. If am considered fortunate...why do I cry? As if I am butterfly, trapped in my father’s web.

Yes, let me repeat. I am trapped in here, under my father’s influence. He held a high position in the city, he wanted me to wear the facade which is loved by everyone, to change into something out of my sense of perfection. I hated it.

I hated the upright posture that must never bow.
The respect you had to fake to those whom it did not suit.
That you had to speak so posh, sweet and so over dramatic in the use of vocabulary.

And alone. I was all alone in the large mansion. No one’s here anymore.
So one day, I wanted to be a spider as well. I want to make my own web. I want to walk my own life. I need to break free.

I ran away when I was 14, down the dirt road into the market below. Stalls set up, the streets lively with beans. But not with lively ones.

The street games out there were festered with bribery and occasional fighting. Stealing was no big deal, afterall, the entire road which was paved with silver had already been melted down to dust, the metal sold off illegally.

There is no enforcement of rules here in the lower district. No authority brave enough to come in and settle things down once and for all.

No.

Everyone enjoyed it this way. After all, was there any other way for them to live?

But all these mundane actions and rudeness which disgusted my father intrigued me. It pulled me closer, until I became one of them and broke all the rules existed.

What use are rules but a list of things to do?

It didn't matter anyway did it? Even if I became the authority figure my father dreamt of, nothing would change.
So why should I bother?

Then that curse which fell on all of us also fell on me.
I grew bored.
I demanded something more in life, something more reckless and that was when I heard the challenge. The challenge to break that rule no one succeeded.

Get out of the city

No city had one exit. I found another path in the sewers. Searching at home for documents about it was not difficult, especially now that my father had all but lost his hope in me. No one paid attention to me anymore and I used this to my advantage.

I didn’t care about who went with me, but I remember there were few. Others were too afraid. But unlike them who only cowered behind fake acts of toughness, I succeeded.

And for the first time in seventeen years, I saw my homeland.

The black city gates loomed up high before me, and the forest wyvern was looking out as usual. Then I realized that he was not sleeping. His eyes had grown dry. Lifeless.
The ground was hard sand, and to the sides the wide mountain range which formed the valley between which the city was situated. However, I started to feel. I started to see birds flying, flapping their strong wings against the wind. I felt the breeze, cooling me in this desert realm, and I saw the light from the sun, today so strong.

I wondered why I have never seen it before.

Walking along the empty valley for a few kilometres, the dirt ground gave way to grass. Inch by inch the grass grew more and more, until I reached the great plains. I had left the valley.

Green. The grass was green. The sky was blue. The flowers so colorful in their array of life.
It was not hard from here onwards to find the next city, and that was where I headed to.

This is Adonis, with its the cursed land and the blessed field.

You may remember me as S m i l e. I recently changed my username to Ƥɛтαℓƨ. I am a non owner and have been trying to win a bean for a little over a year. I would like to be involved in the community and of course have a really cool character to write about and draw.
Image
Papaya is the name of this darling.
Image
Papaya is a female, even though we could not change it I feel as if I would have made her a female as well.
ImageI touched my feet down 20 feet below where remember being originally. I was up high in a tree taking a nap when all of a sudden I feel a sense of vertigo, when I wake up I am falling.My eyes squeeze shut as I hear the cracks of the branches under my weight and I hear whatever bird was sitting in that tree squawk annoyed at my sudden disturbance. I hit the ground with a thud landing on my feet surprisingly enough.I open my eyes one by one and look around, I still see the bright colored forest with the big leafy trees and the wildlife making exotic sounds from their hiding spot I guess that means I am still alive. I smile happily at my landing and march over to my small little house on the edge of the village. The house itself is nothing special really, it is made of mud bricks with a strong thatch roof, it always smells like earth which is nice but it also needs sweeping every day which just so happens to be my job. "Hello mom, dad" I say to my two parents who have a very annoyed look on their face "Where have you been?" they bark at me. "Just places, the usual water hole,peekers trail, etc." I lie. "We were worried sick, can you please just check in after two hours?" my mom asks desperately. "Yes Mamma I will check in, bye!" I scream as I dash out the door. "Papaya! Have fun sweetie, don't forget to check in!" I hear my mom yell from our back door.I managed to snatch a piece of cake from the kitchen while my mom wasn't looking so while I am running the brown dusty road back to the forest I eat it before any of the animals can. You would be surprised what the birds in there can do. I run deeper and deeper into the forest feeling my fur frizz up a bit from the humidity. I whip past long leaved plants their water leaving droplets on my fur. I stop as I reach my favorite tree once again, I look up then decide I am to tired to climb and that I should go to the watering hole instead.I dip my paw into the cool fresh water when I see two eyes in the distance that are not mine. I quickly grab my few sips of water and leave the area, we have lots of exotic snakes and water creatures around here that I would not like to encounter. I wonder back to my tree and climb up a bit, I look up to the very top "wow there is so much room left to climb." I start climbing higher and higher into the leafy heights of the tree, after about 10 minutes I finally reach the top of my tree, "Wow I can see the whole forest from up here" I yell and I see birds of all shapes and colors bursting from the surrounding trees. I must have stayed up in that tree for 6 hours that day because it was dark when I came home. I think that is the fondest memory of my homeland. Would I love to go back? Sure I would love to go back but my parents don't live there anymore they passed away last year. I still think Fiji is the best place I have ever lived.

hey! I'm companioncubes, how are you? If you want, you can call me something else, like cube or cubes. I really don't care what you call me as long as it isn't offensive.

Name;
This girl was given the name matriarch, the name or word means a female leader or head of a family. She was given this name, because as a child she had very leader like qualities. She was a very bold little kid, she really isn't the same as she was a little while ago. She is shy and self conscious now, and. Her name really Dosent fit her personality anymore.
-
I also think this is a very pretty word/name, and it was also the first thing that popped up into my head when I saw her. matriarch. apart from the meaning, it seemed so her.

Gender;
She's female, do you think she looks like a guy?

Image
"I don't like talking... Maybe my owner could explain a little?"

Personality;
Matriarch used to be a very energetic little kid, always running around and wanting something to do. She usually just settled for doing something inside the lab where she lived because most of the time she wasn't allowed outside. She always played with the chemistry sets and microscopes, and that made her a very smart bean. Even though she was an energetic little kid, when she grew up she changed. She became very shy and reserved. Some think this is because she was bullied. She is very self conscious and gets embarrassed easily. People kind of scare her now, so she really wouldn't even talk to you unless she was approached. Although, if you do manage to become friends with her, she is just like how she was as a kid.

Homeland;
Right as she stepped outside the four year old bean was freezing out here, even with multipule thermal jackets on. Even though most of the time it was way too cold for matriarch to go outside, and it was really cold inside too she loved Antarctica and she would miss it. Scince her parents were arctic biologists, she was born in Antarctica and spent her first four years living in a lab with not much to do. Even though it was so cold, she really did love it here. Maybe it was because it was all she knew, she'd never heard of tropical things. She was born in the cold and she loves the cold. She breathes the cold and lives the cold. Today she would leave, and she didn't wanna go. She wouldn't go without spending a good time playing in the ice, at least.
Image

the winters bring you, but the summers keep you. she thought to herself. This saying was true from the place she lived, aspen Colorado. It was true about her, too. She sat up on the peak of a small mountain thinking. Yeah, it was true about her too. She appeared very shy to everyone else, which might make people like her. When you get to know her, she is the same person she was as a kid. Energetic, leaderly... Happy and caring. the winters bring you, but the summers keep you. she thought again, looking at the magnificent view before her. Matriarch does love her birthplace, and used to love it but she couldn't be happier here where she lives now.

U s e r n a m e ;;
shaddic.

N a m e ;;
Hoshiko

G e n d e r ;;
Female

H o m e l a n d ;;
Nova Scotia, Canada
[noh-vuh skoh-shuh]
Hoshiko was born in Nova Scotia.
Nova Scotia had sloping hills, rushing rivers and sharp cliffs. It was frequently cold there, and windy. She lived near the coast, in a small crickety brick house, accompanied by not many other houses. It was near the Atlantic ocean, and it's waves would always crash loudly against the rock ledges not too far from Hoshiko's house. It was quiet, for the most part, where they lived, with the exception of the waves and the wind. If Hoshi looked out her window, she would see endless hills. Most of the land there was bedrock and wouldn't grow crops all too easily, but they managed. They would fish sometimes -but not often-, go down to the shore below and cast out their lines. There wasn't much of anything, there, really. The grass was dry and short, a bit prickly on the paws. The ground underneath was hard with the bedrock where the grass refused grow, let alone sprout. It was more than a bit empty where Hoshiko lived.
Overall, life in Nova Scotia was boring and dull.
Hoshiko loved it. Nova Scotia was utterly amazing and seemed to have a heartbeat of its own, chipped off from the rest of the world, and it was beating strong and independent. Hoshi loved how simple and straight-to-the-point everything was. From the lazy and sloping hills to the warm and fire-lit rooms of her house, it was all blissfully simple. Sometimes Hoshiko would just sit up on her bed, which was tucked into the corner of her small room, and stare out at the so-mentioned hills and crashing waves. It was so roughly beautiful, and it took her breath away at each and every glance, no matter how many times she tried to get bored of it.
Staring at her home was her favorite thing to do.
She didn't mind the cold, either, not at all. Of course she didn't, not when she had the warm fire in the center of the house constantly burning cozily. The fire would always cast a golden hue on the walls, looking a bit more comforting than the blue tints of the outside world. She wouldn't stray very far from her warm home, but when she did, she'd go outside bundled up in her scarf -which was technically her father's- and venture around the hills, feeling the wind whistle sharply through her fur, tickling her skin with cold, crisp air. Sometimes the sun would supply warmth, but not frequently, as the cold was more than often the dominant temperature. She would eventually go back inside after a certain amount of time and most likely curl up by the warm fire, either staring out the window or into the flames.
Hoshiko no longer lives in Nova Scotia, though she does quite like the change in scenery, even as different as it is with the closely packed houses and the long grass and the soft dirt that doesn't hurt your paws so much when you stand on it for too long. There is so much more going on as well, quite a bit busier. Also, in all honesty, Hoshi would've preferred it if everything was a tad bit quieter.
She misses home quite a bit, but she doesn't regret moving.

P e r s o n a l i t y ;;
Hoshiko is an immensely shy being, and she isn't quite too friendly nor social. Hoshi rarely speaks and when she does, her voice is quiet and sharp. She's a bit of a pessimist, like an Eeyore of the sort. Hoshiko can be sarcastic at some times, and she will come off as rude, but she is not rude, though, don't be mistaken, she never is. She doesn't like being around others much, doesn't like to engage, and if she has to, she speaks quieter than usual on purpose, just so she can escape interaction. Once she escapes, she will most likely go off to the side and watch the other dragons talk to each other and whatnot. She doesn't make friends too easily, but she doesn't mind; she can be a bit off-putting and she knows so. Although, when the rare opportunity comes and she makes a friend, she becomes very clingy towards them. Hoshi's very quick to be loyal.
One thing most don't know about Hoshiko is that she has a fear. Only one, that is, but a fear, and a big fear nonetheless. Monophobia: the fear of being alone. Not simply being by herself in a room without others, that she can handle. But being completely alone and isolated? Having no friends or family whatsoever, having nobody to lean on? Thats what hurts her most. The reason she doesn't like interacting is that she doesnt want to be rejected, she doesn't want anyone to leave her.
She doesn't want to be alone.

B u i l d
a n d
A p p e a r a n c e
;;

Hoshiko is a bit small for an average adult dragon, her head reaching to about the waist, not much higher. Her body is very lean and skinny, but her fur -long, thick, and sleek. A bit thicker and wirey along the spine- makes her seem a bit larger than she actually is. Until you actually get up close to her, that is.Hoshi has a few stray tufts of hair on her head, always looking a bit wind-blown, and she has a mild Canadian accent. Her eyes are piercing blue, so icey that they look nearly white. She is often mistaken for blind, though she is not.
The only possession she is known to have with herself is her father's scarf, usually worn around her neck or neatly tucked in her pouch for safe-keeping.

Homeland;well i do love the clouds i was born there, i grew up in a small cloud village on top of the Himalayas , it was breath taking, i loved it ,you could see the mountain.... but i also sat in a quiet village for the first 100 years of my life, ( mostly what you need to know is our kind can live up to be 2000 years old . ) and then i did move, my village was heart broken ,and i really am sad to think i moved away from my village , but i actually moved closer to what the elders called ... " humans " it was so exciting, and i moved down by a foggy lake , and i live in a small cottage now .
where i am now; well... i live in a small cottage next to a small foggy lake, but i live closer to the "human family " ocasionally i get a few peeks from the humans but they are mostly harmless,but sometimes i see some of my kind in the clouds.... i miss them too much.... i have not seen my family for like 150 years now.... i shall go visit them
not accepting pms right now unless I add you to my friends list.
finally quitting. I've told myself I'll quit soon, and I never did, but I finally feel like I should quit. Still keeping my characters/deviantart though. I've wanted to quit for a long long time, but I'm doing it.
Nobody on here talks with me , is friends, and I try to chat on the FR thread but nobody responds much.
Quitting CS and flightrising.

All my fr dragons/stuff went to one of my real life best friends, so don't ask for my FR stuff.
