- ➸ be careful what you wish for
- xxxxxxxxxxxJake insisted he was find where he was, so Sarah nodded politely. She expected him to stay silent and continue eating his breakfast in peace, yet that wasn't exactly what happened. Instead, he invited her to join him. Sarah already finished her breakfast, but it gave her a chance to sit and chat with him. Just making some small talk wouldn't be a problem. Therefore, she took the available spot by his side and took a seat. "How's your breakfast going? Exciting? Stimulating?" he inquired, obviously trying to make a conversation. The blonde gave a noncommittal shrug in response. It hadn't been either, but she had to admit it wasn't as dull as most nondescript mornings. That was until something happened; an event always turned around her day. Momentarily, the lethargic Slyhterian was waiting for that "something" to happen. Of course, there was always the unusual encounter with a Gryffindor. Certainly, it was not something she saw everyday. Sarah stole a glanced over at the table she left to see what they were up to now. Looks like another visitor arrived at the Slytherian table to share a conversation with the house memebers. Her friends sure were popular today. This time it was no Gryffindor but rather a Ravenclaw. Sarah admired their wits; they were worthy competitors. Especially compared to the other houses in Hogwarts, she rarely held grudges against those in Ravenclaw unless they were muggle born. Then, it was only natural to dislike them. It was simply the way things worked; her parents disliked mudbloods, her parents' parents disliked mudbloods, and her parents' parents' parents disliked mudbloods. But maybe the misunderstood wizards were not as bad as the pureblood believed.
xxxxxxxxxxxForcing this thought away, Sarah repeated Jake's question in her mind. Then, she answered, "Not really. It's been quite boring, actually. At least it's a weekend, though. I was thinking about heading to the lake later. Some of the other Slytherians were going there, too. Maybe you could join us." He would most likely decline as the weather was bleak and frigid. In addition, Jake came off as the loner type, but it was worth a shot. Unfortunately, she was reminded of the upcoming tests. Even if he was willing to go, Sarah knew she was going to be locked up indoors for the day. "I'm probably going to be stuck in the library, though, studying for the stupid potions exam," Sarah sighed. "I might even have to start getting ready for the n.e.w.t.s," she added in distress.
