Growling softly I bared my fangs and hissed at whoever had the nerve to shoot at us even though they wouldn't be able to see it. "What are we supposed to do now?!" I knew that our metabolism was quite high so the effects of the drug would wear off quickly, but he'd no doubt still be feeling it and it would definitely be a hindrance.

Ren attempted to focus on the ground. "Mm...land?" He suggested drowsily.

Hiro angled his wings up, knowing that if he tried to help Jinx she'd probably bite someone's head off. He didn't like it, but he'd have to stay out of range and avoid getting hit by a dart. Ugh, this whole thing is such a drag, he thought, coming up next to Athena.

"Oh yeah, let's land so I can have a crazy scientist shoot me in the arse with a freaking dart!" Growling in frustration I tried desperately to think of a better course of action but a good idea seemed to elude me no matter what. Forgetting for a moment that Hiro was within hearing range I began yelling things that were vulgar enough to make a sailor blush.

Ren heard her start to curse and reached up, clamping his hand over her mouth. He stopped flapping his wings and was soon just dead weight. His stomach churned uneasily, apparently not liking whatever was making him drowsy. "Land. Now." He ordered.

Athena looked back and saw Hiro next to her and Fang struggling with Ren. She wanted to fly back to help. But had that feeling that if she did, she would be shot, but if she didn't she risked the chance of the whole flock being taken...

((I'm kinda picturing Ren as Sokka from Avatar: Last Air Bender in the desert episode when he drinks the cactus juice.))

Hiro's eyes widened slightly when Jinx started screaming all those profanities, taking each and every word or phrase into his vocabulary. He'd have to remember to use them sometime, but definitely not now, when Ren was trying to get Jinx to land. Was he insane? If they went down right now, they'd be devoured, or worse.

Growling I instinctively bit him but not hard enough to draw blood. I was too tired to keep carrying him the way I was so I looked for a place with decent enough cover and caught sight of a forest. No doubt they'd know where we were located and would come after us but I had no other choice. "Into the trees!" I folded my wings against my back and dropped out of the sky quickly knowing that at such speeds they wouldn't get a good shot. Unfortunately as I came upon the trees and snapped my wings open I still crashed into some branches before hitting the ground making sure that I took the brunt of the fall just as Ren had done for me earlier. He was just too heavy for me to have been able to maneuver around anything.

Ren winced as they thumped to the ground, and wobbled up straight. He was sitting criss-cross, his eyesight going fuzzy then normal. Ren looked up at Fang and blinked. "Now...I suggest you beat up just enough erasers to scare the others off. Kill a whitecoat or two."
