The bad thing about that though is the demand ones will get even more demand because people will then want them so they can have something from the original lineart. Which will then make them virtually impossible to obtain.
Agree.
Whether CS converts the equines or not, I'd be a little miffed if the decision did not apply one-hundred percent. The reason they want to update the lines is for uniformity, and changing some but keeping others would make the problem worse, rendering the whole project pointless.
If you want to consider how the high-demand Equimagines will be affected, you must also consider how the low-demand ones will be affected. The ones in high demand are in extremely high demand, and the ones that aren't are pretty much worthless. The high-value ones may lose some demand, but we will also see an increase in demand for the ones that aren't already. I'd rather see the majority of the horses increase in demand at the expense of a select few losing some demand.

if you did convert them [ which i highly support , they would be so pretty ! <3 ]
would users still have the pets in the older line art ?
and i believe it would be much better in these lines , the designs look ....
more attractive to me . i disliked actually all of the designs up front , but
seeing them on the newer line arts makes them look outstanding . the old
lines manes look odd , there is barely any detail in them , besides the effect
of wind in the mane , which makes it seem as if the artist for that commited
art theft as well [ which muggafinn has stated ] and i agree with them . it
does reflect badly on the site . but , that is the staff's choice overall ,
whether this happens or not . i am all for it , because i would like to see the
site evolving more and more , just not too rapidly . it also makes it look like
the site is promoting art theft , because those lines from Equi may look
realistic in a way , and beautiful , but they looked like they have just been
traced quickly . but , that is how i feel , you may feel different , but this is what i am sticking with .
and like it was mentioned before , it would take so much longer to convert the
items , it seems it would be much easier on the staff to just do this instead .

*pops in*
I say change them. I know people will be upset at first, but lets think back a ways(a long ways actually) to the Malk line change. I was around when Malk pets were first released on the old Malk lines. I was also around when they were re-colored on the new Malk lines that we have today.
Guess what? Yes, some users were upset at first. I was a little upset at first because I loved the owls before the change.
Guess what else? We got over it. People moved on and agreed that yes, the new lines were better. Even though we missed the old ones, the change was a good thing.
If the horses change, yes, people will be upset. Yes, they'll miss certain ones on the old lines and i'll admit, the pps ponies are much cuter on the old lines. But once again, we'll get over it. The overall change will be good.
I wasn't going to say anything on the matter, but I had to bring this up.

Perhaps instead of changing the actual lines, you could release new lineart horses and ponies with the same design as the older equimagine horses and ponies, so we would have both the old lineart equines and the current lineart equines? If that makes any sense? If not I can see if I can explain a bit clearer.

Then I changed my vote to unsure.
While I'm not a giant fan of the original designs (since they seem a bit cartoony), I'm not sure having them changed to current lines is something we should do. I agree that it's essentially deleting a part of CS history. I understand not all will be changed, since some can't really be modified, but having the originals around as pets is something I'd prefer.
An archive is nice, but maybe the option to have new or old lines is something we should do.
Edit: Also, a new draft would be nice. But if it's replacing the original draft then I don't want it.

I personally can go either way with this.
I never was a big fan of equi's older lines or designs, but that is just me. I'm not sure updating them will lead me to love them any more. I wouldn't mind the change so that other people may show the older designs some love. When I go to trade, I've seen a lot of "No equi linearts" in rules. They have a tendency to sit and rot in my trade group, and I imagine it is a lot of the same for other people. The oldest of the linearts was updated because it didn't 'fit' with the rest of the site. It got updated to something more cartoony to go with the rest of the adopts. In my mind that really makes the oldest lines easily replaceable. I'm not a big fan of the more cartoony linearts anyway, so I'd be happy seeing them replaced. On top of all this, I'd love to have all horse items work for all horses. I really dislike having useless items in there that don't fit anything I want to dress up.
On the other side of the fence, if it doesn't happen, it really won't affect me. Maybe this project in general will be enough to get people to show some love to the old linearts. They seem to get brushed to the back more often than not. As I already stated, I am not a huge fan of the older designs, so if they aren't updated, they will sit in my groups the same way as they are now. If there really are a lot of people who love them, then I understand them not changing. Someone also had a good point that when they are redrawn, small details may be missed and they will never truly be the 'same'.

Guys, I think you are turning this into a discussion with many different views, that is only makes it look like spamming. This topic was made for you to vote, not to judge or criticise the artists or the linearts.
I think it would be good for some changes, because there are many horse linearts already, on which the items don't fit.
I know you have different opinions and I am not saying you shouldn't express them, but I think it got way too far from the point.
