.:Zephere:.

A small candlelight filled the room, casting its orange glow along the brick walls and wooden furniture lining them. All was desolate and silent, except for the sound of slow, peaceful breathing in the far corner of the room. Zephere was sprawled out on an old couch with her arms hanging limp over the sides. Below her arms was an open journal with a worn pen at its side. Zeph had spent her night, like usual, writing in her journal. She wrote down just about anything that went through her mind. It could be her studies, deepest thoughts, or sometimes a simple drawing of something she found interesting. During the daytime, on the other hand, she was busy working to exhaustion like everyone else.
Zeph suddenly awoke with a startle, confused and in a daze, but returned to reality when she saw the time on the clock hanging on the ceiling behind her. She slowly got up, stretching her arms outwards tiredly. I'll be late for work again, she thought, although not taking the consequences too seriously. It wasn't new for her to be late for work. In the end, she was usually given a warning or two, but not always severely punished like the others.
After eating and getting dressed, Zeph headed out the door and down the busy streets of town. Everything was as animated as usual. Children laughing, people conversing with loud voices or inaudible whispers, and stores opening for new customers. It all seemed so orderly, so perfect, and it was all run by a single person, one that was a powerful dictator over all of these people. The king, as she is called, made strict laws that people were forced to follow or suffer severe punishments. In some cases, even death. However, it kept things in check unlike the other poverty struck planets. The people, though, seemed blind towards the downfalls of the king's system. It was cruel and hardhearted. The people were used like puppets, one could say. Zeph, though, always got the better of things being from a high class family, so she gave little concern to the ones who suffered under the law. Her priority was her own survival, at least once she lost the responsibility of caring for her family. They were but a memory now, one that she rarely dared to visit.
Zeph came to a halt before a tall building, one that seemed like it could extend to the clouds. This was where she worked, amongst the others who were forced to do the same. She entered the building through two wide glass doors, feeling the stares of her co-workers burn into her skin.
"Good morning, Ms. Madarlon," The man at the front desk greeted her with narrowed eyes. He didn't seem too pleased to have another worker come in late today. Zeph only nodded her greeting calmly, then headed down the hallway towards her office.
It seems like a repetitive cycle, she thought to herself as she entered her small office. She then walked up to her narrow office window, running her fingers along the smooth surface of the glass as she reminded herself firmly, But it's part of what keeps the planet in order.

    Nate
Dirty green hair hung in front of the man's dull gray eyes as he sat on the streets; learning agianst a decaying wall. He held a cigerette between trembling fingers and took a nervous drag from it. Nate was a young man, but in terrible shape for the most part he was dressed in torn pants and a worn trench coat. He didn't stand out from many other people in the slums other than the fact that he was pretty much covered in blood. "I'm sick of this!" he screamed out to no one in particular; that just gained him hateful glances from people walking pass. Nate sighed heavily and looked up into the sky though the cloud of his smoke and felt no comfort or sympathy from the miserable looking gray sky.

The day had hardly started for him and he had already been mugged by some gang members. They took his knife, and the little food that he had on him. Usually Nathan could take care of himself but today he had just let it happen. Nate was tried for having to fight for survival everyday. So now he would end up sitting in the street, mopping, bleeding, and starving. Not to far of a adverage day in plant seven. Nate pulled his long dyed hair out of his face and pulled it back in a messy ponytail. He took anything drag of his smoke before crushing into into the ground. Nate used the bottom of his shirt to whip some of the blood off of his face; he had a pretty good gash on his cheek from on of the gang members punch but nothing to serious. Infact he had gotten of pretty good considering what had happen to others.

Once he had put himself togeather a little he finally decided to stand up. His left leg was messed up from when the muggers tripped him so he used the wall to support himself as he looked around wondering what he should do. He could go home but he didn't want to face the disappointment his roommates would have in him when he didn't bring any food home for them, plus his house was a wreak. It was a more then unpleasant place to be. The whole plant was actually. Nate didn't really have anything keeping him here other than the fact that it was the only place he had ever lived, it was familiar. He had though about moving but his poverty and fear of not being accepted in other plants keep him here. Maybe things would change for him one day but Nate would get him hopes up any time soon.

William E. Burchard:.
Assigned: No one | Location: Planet 7

Walking past the shady gazes of the men on the stoops, regardless of their almost animalistic grumbles, William continued on. Humans did not scare him. True, they were harmful to themselves and others, but so was everything else in the universe. It was a deeper level of understanding. A higher level of thinking. You had to build upon it to fully, or at least try to, comprehend it all. He believed that this whole race hadn't gone to shambles. There was still something worth looking for.

He walked past the decaying buildings, closely packed together, seeming to use one another for needed support. He frowned slightly at them, and rounded a corner. The skys were heavy, dampening the mood of the whole city, or planet even. William tried to pay no mind to the drooping atmosphere, which seemed to also need support. He simply placed one foot in front of the other, looking for a desprate face that needed his attention the most. He always carried a bit of medical aid on him, in the form of bandages, along with that of money that he personally didn't find much use for. Yes, he needed it, but any amount that he could spare was given away to those who needed it more than he. It was his nature to sacrifice for others, and frankly, he wouldn't have it any other way.

As he went along, a sudden shout that carried over the distance made him spook, jolt a tad even. He looked around, attempting to locate who or what had made such a sound.

Standing turned out to not be such a wise idea, after he stood thinking about his rather bleak choices of what to do with the day. It became quite apparent to Nate how ingured his leg was infact. He tryed to take a step forward decided it would be best just to go home a sleep. Once he put all his weight on the leg Nate stummbled swearing loudly before biting his tounge and falling back to his previous resting place on the wall. He rolled up his pant leg and assessed the damage, his ankle was purple and swollen. Nate signed and poked at it wincing in pain. It was probally twisted or sprained badly. Not being able to run was almost as bad as a death sentence to Nate. He would get beat up or starve if he could run to steal like he usually did. He needed help but the last thing he wanted to go was ask for it.

No other people were near, just some thugs and gang members hanging about in the
shadows. They wouldn't bother him now; he was worthless. Nate look further down the road a unfamiliar man with dark hair caught his eye (William). The man looked better of then himself that was for sure but he didn't look like a gangster either. He had almost kind look to him. Nate really didn't want to stoop to the legal of begging for help from a stranger so he just stayed quite we're he say in the dirty street and ripped of a piece of his pants to try a rig up some form of support for his weakened ankle.

The brute pushed his glasses up, not exactly sure where the shout had come from, but continued travelling down the street. He kept a impassive expression, neutral on what was going on around him, regardless of how he was feeling on the outside. He checked the time, not really counting on it for anything, but just decided he would.

Eventually he came to a stop, white shoes planting themselves on the dirt as his gaze traveled downwards and saw a rather pathetic figure tearing at his trousers. He was covered in blood, the red substance trickling down and splattering all over his shirt from a rather nasty gash on his cheek. He also seemed to have a problem with his ankle, which was puffy and purple from an underlying injury. William guessed a gang attack, and was probably right in that assumption. He had noticed a group of the thugs down the street, dragging a beaten up old bat with them. His blue green eyes glided up from the injury to the man's face once more, and discovered that he wasn't as old as he appeared. All the dirt and grime really didn't do anyone any justice on this planet.

William knealt down beside Nate, arms on his knees. "Are you alright?" he inquired, voice one of the kinds that was soft, but held a presence.

Nate didn't look up when he heard the man approach him, he tensed up his tired muscules a involuntary reaction that he had acquired; to Nate strangers equaled pain, he might aswell brace himself for the beating. No matter what this guy looked like that didn't mean Nate could trust him. With Nate's eyes fixed on the ground in front of him he cautiously moved away from the man a tad and glanced at him turning his head slightly to get a better look. He was kneeling next to him asking him if he was alright. He voice didn't seen to hint at any foul intentions that he may have had.

Nate pushed a couple unrulely strands of green hair out of his face and shook his head 'no' not making eye contact with the stranger. He decided just to swallow his pride and go along with this guy like the pathetic creature that he was. "I mean do I look alright to you." he muttered unable to hold back the sarcastic remark. "they got me good today, I can hardly walk at the moment." he added putting on a friendlier tone, after all what other options did he have. By the 'they' it was clear Nate was referring to the gang members.

Nate chewed nervously on his lip before sitting up straighter and forcing his gray eyes to meet the other man's unsual blue and green ones. "Why are you here?" he questioned. On plant seven it wasn't a uncommon occurrence to turn a blind eye to ingured people in the street, let them die a lone in a pool of there own blood. Even inquiring about someone's well being was odd.

The angel didn't seem to be fazed, only continued to watch Nate with his bi colored orbs. He was quite used to nasty remarks and icy sarcasm, and after a while, it just stopped working on a person. He nodded simply as the man explained that the thugs had indeed gotten him, and that he couldn't get around any more. The injuries were pretty common, since most of the people he came across were beaten and bloody from gang fights.

William reached into the inner breastpocket of his white jacket, pulling out a hankercheif and a small pocket sized medical kit. He listened quietly as Nate inquired about why he was there, and silently gazed at him over the rims of his spectacles. His eyes were mismatched, the left one green and the right one a diluted washed out blue. They seemed to be able to stare at a persons very soul.

"Obviously, I'm here for people like you." he mused, holding out the hankie to Nate. His hands were clad in black cotton gloves, another accessory of his. "Wipe the blood off your cheek and I'll give you something to numb the pain, if you'd like."

Nate watched the man; he was fascinating in a way Nate couldn't put his finger on. Anyway he seemed to be quite prepared and had sine medical supplies on him. Maybe be was a doctor or something? To desperate to give it much more thought Nate accepted the cloth that was handed to him and whipped the mostly dryed blood from his tan, dirty face. He was used the to the filth but it was getter to clean up the cut an infection was the last thing he needed. "People like me huh?" he said lightly deciding not to take it as a insult even though if he was feeling better he most defiantly would have. This guy clearly thought he was above Nate; but that was somthing Nate was also used too. He has pretty much the scum of the plant just one above the thugs in most peoples minds.

When he has done cleaning up he handed the cloth back to the man. "If you don't mind, anything to dull the pain is great. Even limping home is better then crawling." Nate admitted fighting to keep desperation out of his voice. He had a good pain tolerance but the young man did have his breaking point, people can only take so much abuse before they break. "I'm Nate by the way. Thanks for helping me out."

"Its no problem." William said, undoing the little aid kit's plastic clippings and opening it up. There was enough room for the basics. A few syringes with a small bottle of morphine, along side a roll of gauze and bandaids. He extracted the bottle and undid the plastic around the sanitised needle. He measured a correct dose, then moved a bit closer to deliver the medication where it was needed. "I suggest you find a doctor to take a better look at this." William said as he examined the ankle, then pulled away. He collected his hankie from Nate, and folded it up.

"William E. Burchard. Pleasure to meet you." the angel added.

Feeling the medication being to take affect Nate let out a small sigh of relief. "Me go to a doctor? Are you new around here or somthing?" he mused, doctors we few and far between. Plus he wouldn't be able to afford one anyway. "I'll just stay off of it for a while." he lied; maybe he would rest it a day or half a day then he would have to be out again to scurry around looking for food or work. It was a vicious circle, only ending in death.

Now not as focused on the physical agony he was in able to look over the man who had introduced himself as William. He wasn't like others, he was more formal and put togeather. He had light seemingly flawless skin, dark hair and glasses over his really weird eyes that seemed to look though him. "Do you want me to pay you or somthing, you basically saved me..." he started unsure how to react to the act of kindness.
