Hello my dearest cousin.
What I liked about this was all the different patterns you displayed -- you're getting really great at the fading, smudging, and blending. I can honestly say that was my favorite part of the pattern. In the corner with the checkered -- beautiful! And below the dog/wolf feet, where it smudged into a soft yellow? That was amazing!
Background was excellent. You should've used another color -- perhaps a sharp denim purple, however. The yellowish white was soft for the bright pinks and dark blues on the main object -- the animal. While the blending in the back was great, the coloring was off. The smudging and dappled colors worked well on the animal. You put just enough! But you need to blend just as well as you did in the background, and use that talent on the animal. It was a bit splotchy for my own style and taste, but if that's how you intended it to be, then you nailed it.
The body of the animal. The neck, back, ears, head were perfect. I expected more from you than what I saw it the eyes. You usually add more of a twinkle, more of a manga wideness that I adore! The eyes look great -- just a bit... not as shocking as I usually see in your art. I like that kind of anime style, so don't stop! You tail was probably the downside of your drawing. Much to many spikes! Spikes and ruffles look great. But it looked like a squirrel. To much! And the spiral was odd, not as bad as all the spikiness. (s)He doesn't need that many!
Highlight - Background. I suggest to think out the coloring more next time. The whitish yellow was just horrible with the other colors! Clashing. But beautiful smudging and blends and overall fantastic otherwise!
Downside - That tail.
(Not that I could do any better, but you know. I suck.)
