The humans recently reintroduced some lynxes into the wild, bringing many changes to the forest that you call your home. Suddenly, you find yourself competing with many other lynxes for food, and combined with the harsh Siberian winter, many will not survive. For in a small forest where humans do not understand the impact of one extra lynx on the ecosystem, life has become much more of a struggle. Will you be able to survive the change brought to the forest?

1. This is a REALISTIC roleplay! No wings, fancy colors, no nothing. Normal lynx behavior, please. Life won't be perfect. Please, I will provide lots of information about lynx behavior, appearance, and personality. You may have as creative names as you like.
2. Innocent Hearts and I are co-creators of this roleplay; please respect both of us equally. We are both allowed to bring any changes to the roleplay and rules as we see fit.
3. All of Tess' and Nick's rules apply
4. Of course, keep it PG-13. I know it's realistic, but we can refrain from describing certain things when we roleplay. It's not that hard.
5. Do not complain if any events in the roleplay do not go in your favor. They'll all be completely natural; no god-modding, but there WILL be illegal hunters, there WILL be avalanches, blizzards, and the like. Users can create natural disasters such as storms; you don't need permission from us to start some drama. They won't be directly aimed at one cat for all of the roleplay, but depending on one cat's position or what they are doing, they can run into...something. No god-modding will be allowed.
6. No Mary/ Gary Sues, or I'll be evil and afflict your cat with diseases or send a storm of bees after them or something.
7. Break a rule and then...I'll be waving goodbye.
8. ALL ROLEPLAYERS ARE ACCEPTED. This means, that literate, semi-literate, etc. are all accepted as long as you are able to type a good sentence. Not like, "She sat down." Something more like, "She sniffed and pawed at the loose, moist soil for a bit, shoving some pine needles out of the way, before tucking her paws under her and sitting down".
9. Please, don't hesitate to suggest something!
10. Psh. Of course the animals can talk. This roleplay wouldn't be much without some dialogue.
11. No more than 3-5 pages without me and/or Innocent Hearts!
12. No more than 5 posts of spam. Use OOC if you're going to talk about unrelated stuff, please!

In this roleplay the characters are Eurasian lynxes, in the northern forests of Siberia.

The Eurasian lynx is the largest lynx species. It has powerful legs, with large webbed and furred paws that act like snowshoes. It also possesses a short "bobbed" tail with an all-black tip, black tufts of hair on its ears, and a long grey-and-white ruff.
During the summer, the Eurasian lynx has a relatively short, reddish or brown coat, which tends to be more brightly coloured in animals living at the southern end of its range. In winter, however, this is replaced by a much thicker coat of silky fur that varies from silver-grey to greyish-brown. The underparts of the animal, including the neck and chin, are white at all times of the year. The fur is almost always marked with black spots, although the number and pattern of these is highly variable. Some animals also possess dark brown stripes on the forehead and back.

Eurasian lynx make a range of vocalizations, but are generally silent outside of the breeding season. They have been observed to mew, hiss, growl, and purr, and, like domestic cats, will "chatter" at prey that is just out of reach. Mating calls are much louder, consisting of deep growls in the male, and loud "meow"-like sounds in the female.
Eurasian lynx are secretive, and because the sounds they make are very quiet and seldom heard, their presence in an area may go unnoticed for years. Remnants of prey or tracks on snow are usually observed long before the animal is seen.

Lynx prey on hares, rabbits, rodents, grouse, wild boar, chamois, foxes, roe deer, and reindeer. As with other cats, taking on larger prey presents a risk to the animal, and so is only common during winter when food is less abundant. They will also feed on carrion when it is available. Adult lynx require 1.1 to 2 kilograms (2.4 to 4.4 lb) of meat per day, and may take several days to fully consume some of their larger prey.

The main method of hunting is stalking, sneaking and jumping on prey, although they are also ambush predators when conditions are suitable. In winter certain snow conditions make this harder and the animal may be forced to switch to larger prey. Eurasian lynx hunt using both vision and hearing, and often climb onto high rocks or fallen trees to scan the surrounding area.

Although they may hunt during the day when food is scarce, the Eurasian lynx is mainly nocturnal or crepuscular, and spends the day sleeping in dense thickets or other places of concealment. It lives solitarily as an adult.

Appearance:
Minerva has ears with long black tips, and pale gold eyes. Her paws are extremely large; even for a lynx, so she although she has better traction in the snow, she is very clumsy. Her nose and paw pads are pale pink. She's distinctive because of the tiny pure-black spots around her nose and under her eyes; her tongue is small and pale pink, a bit paler in color than her nose and paw pads. Minerva's teeth are shiny white; yellowish in the back if they've gotten a bit old. She's not missing any teeth yet, but is short a few whiskers...

Personality*: Minerva is not especially the most social of lynxes, which has actually been good for her in her life; she was less trusting and had an easier time scaring off other lynxes that would steal her food. She can be a bit paranoid at times, but prides herself on being silent.

Rain is a brownish-gold lynx with deep gold eyes; he is distinguishable by the pale yellow, almost creamy-colored flecks on either side of the fur around his eyes. He has very long whiskers and a long, dark pink tongue. His teeth are off-white; his paw pads are pale pink. He wears a black radio collar around the scruffy but soft fur of his neck.

Personality*: Having lived in a zoo for about 2 years of his life, Rain is an idle, lazy, and sometimes lethargic lynx; which has been a problem in the past few days since he's been released. Whatever prey he's caught was stolen, and he was too lazy to chase after the offender.

Appearance: Kira in almost snow white except she had black spots everywhere, her ears have black tips and one eye is competely surrounded by black. Kira's paws and tongue are a normal pink with a few black spots. Her eyes are a yellowish-cream color. she has a few scars but she dosen't know where she got them.
