"How did you do it?" Nightsplash said, amazed and excited to hear a story.

Kinkfur settled herself on a sun warmed rock. She said "Well... Let me see. Ah yes, that time. Now, when I was a younger one, I liked to run ahead on patrols. Once, when it was a time of war, we were nearly decimated-so we had huge patrols along the border. The code had changed a little, it was, if your on a border patrol, catch whatever and eat it. Well, I was running ahead when I wasn't paying attention-and a fox attacked me. I ran back, with it chasing me, to my companions, who fought it off-I beleive we killed it. Any case, I got this lovely ear, and this scar," She said showing her nicked ear and a long scar along her flank.

Nightsplash stared in awe. "Wow. You must have been so brave!" he breathed.

Rainwhisper smiled.
