Must Read Topics for Newbies threads. ^^ They'll really help you along your way to getting around ChickenSmoothie, at least the basics. Otherwise, the main heart of CS is the forums. :'D There are a lot of great things to do, and it's even better when you find a "niche", someplace you feel best. Maybe you'll find it in the role playing forums, the chat forums, trading or auctions, Oekaki boards, or even the art boards (my personal favorite ;D). There's a lot to do in each of those separate areas too. The Oekaki and the art boards both have areas where you can show off or places for competitions, where you can find pets you're missing.
As for your comment on the pound, it really is random. I'd suggest, when you're online, going to check it about every 30 minutes to an hour. If it opens soon, it will say something like "The pound opens in half a day" (within 12 hours). Eventually it will get down to things like, "the pound opens in an hour" or even "the pound opens in less than one minute". I suggest trying to get there
right when it opens, because that's when you can get all the rare pets. ;3 If you have any other questions or need help understanding or navigating, please don't hesitate to ask!
