"I think it's time to go back now." Oriane stated, looking up at the darkening sky.
"Aww, but we didn't find anything!" Drizzle responded disappointedly.
"That's just how it goes sometimes. Maybe we'll have more luck tomorrow." Oriane said in reply, starting to walk back and beckoning their new scavenging buddy to follow them. Drizzle went up ahead before Oriane stopped her. "Wait." they said, slinking over and pulling some kind of paper object out of her fluffy tail.
"What is that?" Drizzle questioned, turning around to look at them.
"A piece of a brochure, seems we're not going back empty-handed after all." Oriane answered, handing it back to Drizzle. "You can keep it, it'll be a nice trophy from your very first scavenging trip."
"So what do we do now?" Drizzle asked as they got home. Oriane turned on the lights before going over to the table to idly bounce a yellow rubber ball they had found from a previous scavenge.
"We'll spend the rest of the night resting so we can be recharged for tomorrow's adventures." Oriane responded. "I'll go cook something for dinner, you can spend some more time exploring if you want."
Drizzle nodded, firstly running off to her own room to put down the brochure piece, before looking around the house. There were about... six bedrooms, three on each floor. That's a lot of rooms for one werm. She thought to herself, going downstairs to go look at the garden at the back of the hideout. There were a lot of different plants growing there, including many fruits and vegetables. Most if not all of the plants Drizzle had seen before were all shriveled and crackly, so it amazed her that Oriane was able to keep so many plants in this greenish condition. Her ears perked up as she heard her name being called from inside the house, bounding back inside. She sat down at the table as Oriane slid a plate of food across the table to her.
"Y'know, it's been awhile since I'd last shared a meal with another werm-" Oriane began, as Drizzle had already stuck her whole face into her dinner. "Woah, you really are hungry, aren't you? Maybe we won't even have leftovers tonight. Be careful, though, I don't want you to choke."
Drizzle paused, looking back up at them. "Sorry..." She began to apologize.
"No, don't worry. I can just make more tomorrow. Food's meant to be eaten." Oriane said in response. "I'm not usually able to eat it all in one night anyway."
