Once old enough to roam on his own, Ghirardelli left his home and ventured out into the world. He hasn't stopped exploring since. Whether it be digging up buried treasure, uncovering fossils of mysterious creatures, discovering long lost ruins, or spelunking deep into the caves and caverns of the planet Ghirardelli's sense of adventure never seems to run out. He collects artifacts and treasures in his trusty backpack until he can bring them back to his "mobile home", a covered wagon full of shelves and trunks he's filled over the years.

His latest wandering has brought him to a vast desert, where he's hunting for the ruins of a civilization rumored to be built around an oasis. During his journey he's seen the surprisingly diverse flora and fauna of this region, giant cacti home to colonies of bioluminescent mice, strange fishlike creatures that swim through the sand and feed on various bugs and beetles that come out from who knows where at night, and a plethora of reptiles. While searching for a place to set up camp for the night, after following a dried up river bed, Ghirardelli spots something small scurrying about in the dirt. Upon further inspection it turned out to be a small bird creature, flipping rocks and scratching at the ground, seemingly looking for something. After an awkward first encounter, getting patted down and having his backpack rifled through, the bird(?) munches on some dried fruits satisfied. It's red and brown coloring reminds him of the chocolate covered cherries sold in his home town.

Can it really be called a companion? This weird bird has been annoying Ghirardelli since he found it squabbling around a river bank looking for food. They tell you not to feed the birds, but who really listens to those signs? Ghirardelli should've. It won't leave him alone. It's literally been a month. He's taken to calling it Cherry, but only when he's sharing about the bird with other Chicoons he meets on his travels. In private he refers to it as either bird, idiot, or @%$-*!#. An unwanted traveling companion that seems to have no plans on leaving him any time soon. Ghirardelli can't eat in peace, as it is fixated on food and always attempts to steal a bite or three. Despite other travelers attempting to lure the bird away with snacks, it just eats its fill and returns to Ghirardelli's side. Seems he's stuck with it. Great.

About them and their companion:
Lux has always been more introverted, instead of conversing or interacting much with other chicoons, Lux has preferred to stick to theirself and wander forth in the land where they reside. However, one day during their travels, they stumbled upon a small creature who was alone as well, but to Lux's dismay, this creature was VERY noisy and hyper..and unfortunately thought that Lux was her parent ( or littermate) because of their nose coloration.
Despite Lux's efforts to not stick around, this creature began to follow, and as Lux went on they grew closer and closer. Obviously, they did not get along together whatsoever...at least during the first five minutes, after those five (long) minutes, this tiny being had captured Lux's heart, becoming their best friend. These events made Lux think, well we can't just call her a creature forever, and promptly decided to name the small creature, Tyche, after the goddess of chance. ( Because allowing a loud hyper tiny creature to follow you around is certainly taking a chance in one direction or the other.)
