This is a panda for my sig. I'm not sure what exactly I'm doing with my sig yet, but I do know that I want a panda in it, so, this is a start.

Y'all can use it too, if you want; just link back to this post to show you have permission to use it and don't remove my sig.

Basically, it's this tutorial

You would have to have permission to color in an artwork in order to get a transparent of it. I would seriously suggest not deleting the background layer like the tutorial says and just hiding the layer/group. That way, if it was a background you liked, you wouldn't lose it.

You'll know that the background is completely hidden if a grey tile pattern shows up behind the artwork in the program. From there, save the image (and post it if you haven't already) and follow the rest of the tutorial's steps.
