Show Name: Double Shot
Barn Name: Espresso
Age: 6 months
Height: Estimated 16.2 hh
Halter: Black to white gradient w/ silver hardware
Discipline: Show jumping

Competition:

Espresso was only about three months when she and her mother were moved into a foal and mare paddock for all of the mares and their foals who would wean three months later. There she met a small filly, Luna, a tobiano filly, Winnie, a colt, Cobalt, and another colt, Onyx. She played with them every single day and night until they ran out of time. About a month passed and Luna's mother was injured. The mare was running from two dogs that entered the paddock at night and she tripped over a small log. She had only bruised her knee, but Luna stayed by her side.

Another month passed, Cobalt's registry show came up. He and his mother were gone for a long time. Winnie and the two were lying under a tree in the shade, cool as could be. They were growing quickly, they would soon wean together, or so they thought. Winnie was soon also taken to a filly only paddock because she would be a show mare and would never be bred, so there was no reason for her to be in a mixed group. She could stay with show fillies. The last two stayed strong, hoping that they would not be taken away from each other like the others were. About a month later, weaning time came. They were both stalled next to each other. Espresso was relieved that it was over until she found out that Onyx was being led out of his stall. She whinnied and squealed, confused about why he was leaving and going into a large metal box shaped vehicle. When she realized he had been sold, she was devastated. She did not even try to contact her mother, or eat much. Espresso only ate a little, all of her grain and a bit of hay and grass. She was very upset, but then she met a palomino colt, Sand castle. They bonded almost instantly, both of them had their friends taken and sold away. Espresso would never forget Sand castle, he was there when she needed him the most.

Sand castle was rescued as an orphan, meant to be a partner to Espresso. Her owners noticed what happened and could not do much about it but give her a new friend.

Show Name: Bewitched by Daggers
Barn Name:Hex
Age:2 years 5 months
Height:15.3hh
Halter:Duck yellow
Discipline: Polo horse

Competition: Hex was a bit of a premature foal, she was tiny when she came into the world and for fears of her health, she was kept locked up inside longer then most of the other rescued foals. She had struggled to suckle and her mother ended up abandoning her so she was hand fed for a time until she was weaned.
Hex was shy and spent most of her time laying in the stall bored and alone until a stable hand had come by her stall and had seen how down in the dumps she had been and how she wasn't socialising much due to having been kept inside so long.
The stable hand brought a duckling with them when they visited her, in an effort to see how the foal would deal with an animal companion until she could be rehome and introduced to some foals. Hex had initially been frightened by the strange sounding animal, but after giving it a sniff and getting used to it, she became quite attached to the duckling, and it snuggled up against her or clambored up onto her back while she layed down in the straw and it rubbed its beak under her chin for attention. She had gotten much better and was finally happy, but a few days later when the event was in full swing and people were coming in and out do the stable all day, a stray cat had found its way into the stable while the stable hand went to fetch the foal some oats, and the duckling ended up being caught by the cat to hexs horror. She had shrieked and whinnyed and the stable hand had chased off the cat, but it had been too late and her duckling was gone, she had lost the only friend she had so far, and she was devastated. It took about an hour of petting and comfort for her to even stop shaking and standing completely still in her stall as she stared at where the duckling had been, a few last tiny yellow feathers sitting on the straw. She stopped eating after that, and felt like her entire life was shattered.

The day came and she was put into the arena to be purchased it had been quite a stressful ordeal for the shy foal and she was feeling down in the dumps again after being led off to a large silver trailer by her new owner, yet she practically flew into the air with a well placed buck and kick as she came face to face with a group of 5 little ducklings, who were quacking and rambling about on the floor of the trailer. Turned out the stable hand had approached the owner after the bidding was done, and together they pitched in some money and visited a local pet store, and rescued some ducklings to help her heal and replace the little friend she had lost.
She took great care to be gentle and laid down in the hay with them and let them clambor all over her and pull her mane and make an awful racket, yet hex felt so happy she didn't care. She still missed her first friend, but she felt determined to love these ducklings as she had her first, and she no longer felt lonely. They kept her company throughout the entire drive to her new home, and got to stay with her in her stall. She grew quick, as did the ducklings, and when it came to going out to the paddock they were there to encourage her and keep her comonay, and even the other foals seemed to take an interest in them although they were larger now and quite noisy, and scared the other foals. She still makes time to play with the ducks that helped her through her dark time, and considers them her closest friends.

Competition:

"What a sorry sight," a voice-rough with age and strain- broke the silence. The man drew a sigh from his chest and stepped into the stall. Before him lay a small ,dark filly. She did little else save for flick her tail at a fly as he entered. She wasn't lively like the other foals- she didn't care for food or attention.
"Poor girl-here now, take this" he sat beside her, lifting her head to his lap and offering her the bottle he held. She scarcely cared that he was there-she was lost in her own world. Her own darkness that the lanterns light would never reach. Still, her stomach grumbled after a time and she begrudgingly took the bottle's contents, standing as she did. He sat there ,gently stroking her neck, admiring her novel beauty. He felt for her. She was orphaned long before he'd gotten the pleasure of rescuing her. She'd had no love-no mother nor herd, no handler-just an occasional forced bottle and a dark quiet room. Try as he may- it'd proven difficult to socialize her. She stood alone in the shadows while the other foals pranced in the sunlight. She wasn't food motivated like most of the youngsters. She was all in all just a very apathetic filly.
In Due time she'd grown comfortable with the man-even let him pet and feed her. Though other horses, or people, creatures of any sort she shyed away from. She would lash out in mini-mock anger if anything got too close-those squeals of hers! First noise he heard her make was an angry shrill warning for a pompous colt to leave her be, and it had startled him so,that he was a bit ashamed to admit it. She'd known most of the worlds darkness at such a young time-he was worried she would remain equally if not more bitter throughout her years. So he made it his mission to 'save'her. It wasn't too long before he noticed that she enjoyed music-even would have a little pep in her step . So humming turned to singing,Singing turned to a cd player and boombox- and that sparked her new found training. Liberty-giving her the freedom to be herself and still maintain a bond with her handler and her herd. Now a days she's still a bit sassy. She's no diva mind you, but she does still have that dark passenger from her youth. She's slow to adapt to change, and sometimes can sink back in the dumps- but now all it takes is a gentle hand and tune to get her right again. Of course a little snack never hurt either.

A single little hoofprint gave Mama away.

She was leading Currawong away through the bush, acting calm, but giving off a hint of fear-scent, not strong, but enough for her newborn foal to realise something was wrong. Like a whisper, Mama seemed to float, never leaving the imprint of a hoof anywhere. After all, as Mama had said before snuffeling the tiny black ears of her foal for the first time, survival is everything. Your skill is the only difference between life and death Someday, Currawong would be just as good, but for now, she placed her every cautious step in Mama's. The shining black horse, and her equally silvered foal, pushed onwards through the darkening evening. Mama's fear-scent was fading  more every step the two took. Currawong walked alongside her mother, very close to keeping pace with her, but Mama always a step ahead. The foal pressed forwards, placing her feet after Mama's own, slipping once in the mud, before gathering her splayed limbs and trotting back on again. Later, unbeknownst to her, that one little slip would be Mr Wolf's key to tracking them down.

Having been moving quite a while, Currawong nipped her mother's exposed flank, telling her to stop. Sparrow turned her head back at the foal, leaving it exposed for the first wolf. Mama roared in anger, telling Currawong to scamper, fast. Leaving Mama alone for the wolves.

Galloping wildly for hours tends to tucker out a three day old foal, and Currawong was much the same. It was only when she smelt man-scent - but also horse-scent - that she stopped. Some instinct had her plod towards the herd, instead of away from it. It wasn't something she was going to regret.

As the foal and her adoptive mother lay down to sleep, she named herself in honour of Mama.

    Age: 3 years, 9 months

    Discipline: Dressage

    Competition:
She couldn’t understand it. They had been best friends, she and the little colt. Born in stalls side-by-side, they were both the first horse the other ever met, outside of their own mothers. They were released to pasture for the first time together, they played and frolicked together, they grew together.
She didn’t understand much, being so young. But she understood friendship, and she though she and the colt had that. But, all of a sudden, there were other foals in the pastures. Foals with splashes of bright colours, with dazzling personalities and beautiful coats. It didn’t take little Yen long to feel insecure about what, in her eyes, was a plain coat, a boring personality. She tried everything, from flirtatious playing to downright stroppishness, but she could see, slowly but surely, her little friend slipping away, becoming more interested in the other foals, the prettier fillies, the more boisterous colts. Little Yen became nothing but a background character, relying more and more on her mother for company. And, even then, the knowledge that that won’t last forever hangs in the back of her mind, knowing that, one day, she and her mother will be separated, like all the foals before, and then she will truly be friendless.

Soothing her aches seems like it has a simple answer - just find her a friend, but the little filly seems so shut off, so imprisoned by her own securities that she seems to immediately assume that others have no want to be associated with her. So, I just need to find a foal that's got the patience to show her that they're willing to break into that closed-off heart of hers!

Show Name:Shattered Heart
Barn Name:Shi
Age:1(going to be 16)
Height:7.8 (Going to be 17)
Halter:Lavender
Discipline:Showjumping

Competition:Shi is often bullied because of the strange way she jumps; they always tease that she’s lopsided or uneven. Once the owners started to notice her lack of excitement or happiness like the other foals, they got her this little teddy bear. Ever since that day she can be seen carrying it around, they even made a tiny pocket on her blanket to hold it when she runs around. This bear has slowly lifted Shi’s spirts, and she is now a happier foal and is improving. Even if she does still get teased, she doesn’t let them get to her anymore. The stable hands have often nicknamed the bear “Heart Bear” because of the little heart it holds, it also seems to be Shi’s favorite part of the toy because of it’s bright color. The owners will probably let her have it even as an adult just because of how much it’s changed her life.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have no clue if this makes any sense but I thought a teddy bear would be a good mood lifter idk :p
