what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?: 2019 was a huge year for me when it comes to my mental health and everything. i ended up inpatient for a little bit just due to the stress of everything, as well as to adjust my medications and see if i qualified for a certain diagnosis. in all honesty, and i know how cliche it is, but i'm proud of myself for surviving the year while still looking forward to 2020 and the next decade. i'm proud that i've pulled my grades up, i'm proud that i made it through a really bad break-up, i'm proud that i wrote 10 000 words in a day. i'm proud of a lot of things, and i appreciate this competition for giving me a chance to reflect on them

what is something you want to do in 2020?: i figure that 2020 will be a year of building myself up. last year was just a year of building myself to the point where i could stand, but this year i'll be expanding on that and really growing into myself. this year, i hope to grow spiritually (i'm a pagan and i often neglect talking to my gods), i hope to start a webcomic, and i hope to heal further from the trauma. it'll take a bit, a lot, but i'm sure that i can at least begin to work on these three things. other than that, i want to decide on a tattoo design as i'm getting one this May! i'm thinking a pomegranate flower or a quotation mark?

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?: my ex-partner, the one that i recently broke up with, is still my friend, and i'm really worried about him. he got through a lot in 2019, and i suspect that he went through a lot of things that he didn't tell me. so for him, too, i'm just proud of him for surviving and making it to the next decade. i'm too anxious to say things a lot of the time so i don't really know if i can say this to his face but i'm really proud of him. i'm really, really proud of him, and i appreciate that even if we struggle now, we were at one time close

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?: Improving on my art!! I have been working on it so hard and wip❤️

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?: I Did Stuff and I Got Hobbies haha. In other words, I tried to be less sedentary and actually get out and do things, and keep up with things I enjoy. I think I usually tend to so something and drop it or Want to do things and pine over them but never end up doing them, so I think this is good. I finally took wheel pottery classes, I took up pen-pal-ing, and I started to vaguely learn hand lettering. I also ended up getting out more and hung out with friends, which was nice bc I haven't seen a lot of them in a while and, once again, less sedentary!

what is something you want to do in 2020?: Continuing on from the previous answer; I want to do more of the things that I said I'd do in the past/that "I'd love to do"! I think for sure I'd want to cosplay and open up an online shop of some sort (both have been on my list for a while but I never got around to doing either haha). I realized it's good to try now things and have new experiences, and honestly it's really refreshing bc it made me feel more like a Real Person, so I'd like to strive to do that more. M o a r .

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?: I have two people I mostly want to address in this! One would be my RL friend. We don't talk as much anymore bc we both have our own things to do, but we were good friends in the past and we occasionally chat and we did see each other earlier in 2019 (and it was v fun; they're super fun to talk to and are really funny and tbh can be super insightful too). They were going through a number of Things so I hope, in 2020, that they manage to work through it and just have some time to just chill and have fun and be able to relax.
The second person would be Kolya! Without going too much into it, they've had a rough go of things in the last bit of 2019 and I hope that everything works out in 2020. They're a v nice person who deserves v nice things and a Chill Life. I'd like to think that we've become better friends as 2019 progressed and it's been nice just being able to talk to them about stuff, and I hope we can talk more this year as well.

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?:
I am proud of myself for making a lot more drawings last year. I feel as though I was able to make a lot of progress on my art. I think that I was able to develop an art style I am very comfortable drawing in and often feel happy with the final result of my pieces. Also, this year I got my first feature on chicken smoothie. That had been my dream ever since I first joined chicken smoothie in 2013, and I am very happy that I was finally able to achieve it. That was probably one of my biggest accomplishments in 2019. what is something you want to do in 2020?:
In 2020, I would really like to get better at art. I feel like I improved a lot during 2019, and would love to continue improving in the new year. I hope that I will be more creative with my art pieces. I would love to learn to do more elaborate poses. I also hope to have more inspiration so that I will want to make more art. I had a lot of art block this past year, so I hope I will not have much of that this year. I just hope that in 2020 I will be happy with where my art is at. ((106 words))

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?:
In 2020, I just really hope my friends will be happy. Whatever that means for them, I want that for them. I hope they get to enjoy this year, even if they didn’t enjoy the past years. I don’t actually know what their goals for the coming year are, but I hope they get to achieve them. I want them to feel confident with who they are and overcome any challenges they face. There is not really anything specific I want for them besides happiness. Overall I just hope they finish 2020 feeling content with what they were able to accomplish this year. ((103 words))

I want to accept imperfection. I have always been a perfectionist - I spend hours on unimportant tasks and stress about even the smallest details. I will often joke about it, but in all honesty, it takes up a huge space in my life. For that reason, my "new year's resolution" is to allow myself to be imperfect and to know that mistakes aren't the end of the world. It seems so simple, and yet it requires me to completely change how I think. There's a part of me that wants to forget about it completely, but I know that in the end, changing my ways will help me. Wish me luck!

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?: [110 words]
To tell the truth, this past year was awful. Someone very close to me passed away in June, and it has been the hardest, most painful thing that I have ever experienced. The grief that comes with loss is indescribable. And yet somehow, despite everything, I've kept on moving forwards. I'm still standing. Is that an accomplishment? I honestly don't know. The year mark doesn't really change anything, after all. I'm still carrying this immense burden. Still, I made it to 2020, and to me that means something. I know that I will get through it, eventually. And I know that I was be so much stronger because of it.

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?:
getting my goose girl! my little crested gecko is my baby and I love her so much and I'm so so happy that I was able to get her and I'm so very proud of the vivarium I built for her, and the hopefully spoiled happy luxurious life that I've given her. being able to have her and care for her also really shows my progress with my anxiety and how far I've come with that, and she gives me more reason to do things and so so many smiles. she's a little light in the darkness and I'm really proud of all the research and time and care I've done for her even if she is a little bastard sometimes.

what is something you want to do in 2020?:
in 2020 I really hope to start getting better at doing things quicker and not taking ages to work up to things. it's less I procrastinate or have terrible time management, because I'm fairly good at managing my time when I'm able and I really try to avoid procrastinating, and it's more I'm still working on my anxiety and working up to doing things can be hard and so so daunting and I really want to start getting better with that. my incredible best friend deserves that, so she's not waiting on me to finish things, and the kal staff of the comps I enter also deserve that. also to finish my friend's birthday present, which has been in the works since august. whoops.

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?:
I so truly hope that my closest friend who I write and talk every day with is able to get her fish tank thriving and beautiful and lovely with no faults along the way. she is such a wonderful and lovely and incredible friend and she means everything to me and I want nothing more for her than wonderful things and for her and her future betta to have no terrible things come their way. she's been through so much with me and I know that's not easy and her staying and working through things and still being my friend even through the worst bits means the world.

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?: I worked on my art a lot and improved quite a bit, so I'm pretty proud of that. At the beginning of the year, I was definitely still quite an art beginner and hadn't really gotten my "style" worked out. As the year went on, my lineart got smoother, I tried new things, such as gifs and colored lineart, and developed a true "style" to use, which I'm very proud of. I've had quite a few people compliment me on improving a lot in my art over 2019, so I'm very happy about that and want to keep improving into the next year.

what is something you want to do in 2020?: Going into 2020 I want to improve even more on my art, as right now I can draw ferals and anthros fine, but I really want to try and figure out humans in my style, so I can expand my abilitys. I also want to try and improve on my shading skills, as I think having better shading could sharpen my art more. One more art thing I want to try is animation, I think it just looks fun and I've started on small things, such as tweens and blinks, but I think I'm ready to try bigger stuff, such as emotion switches and separate frame stuff.

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?: I have a friend who has very bad social anxiety, and I'm very proud of her for joining the robotics club with me. We're two of the only four girls, and two of the youngest people there, so she knows only me but she's been doing really well! I'm mainly just proud of her for joining in the first place, and I think she'll get even better with the club in 2020 as she starts to socialize with more people other then me. Her anxiety has really wreaked her in a lot of other situations, so I'm really happy to see it getting better.

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?:
I'm really glad that I got back into drawing more and tried new things. At the beginning of 2019, I had been in a sort of slump with my art. However, closer to the end, I tried drawing more, and it was really helpful for me. I tried new poses and worked on defining my style more, which I feel like I have. Towards the end of the year, I was also more able to motivate myself to get back more into digital drawing/trying things on the computer. I also managed to finish a sketchbook that I had for a while, and I'm really happy about that because it's pushing me to work more on filling my new sketchbook. [120 words]

what is something you want to do in 2020?:
My main goal is to work on my self-confidence and applying myself to more things. I want to work on improving myself and the way I see myself. I've often been very anxious about applying myself to new things and seeing myself as capable, especially because I often fear rejection. This year, I really want to push myself to do things that I'd like to do and know would be beneficial to me and get over my fear of not receiving acceptance. With this, I want to work on becoming less indecisive and doubtful of what I can do because I feel that I have missed out on some things because of my indecisiveness. I also really want to work on meeting new people/talking to new people, and I know this would be beneficial in that also. [138 words]

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?:
I'm proud of my friend for getting involved in different groups at her college. She's been doing many things in her interest areas, and I'm really happy that she has pushed herself to do these things despite time commitments. I'm also really glad that she got a leadership position in one of her organizations. She has been having a lot of fun and has made many friends, and I'm really glad about that because she is a very nice person. I'm also really proud of her for doing well in school and seeing how she can succeed even with mean teachers or subjects she was unsure about. I hope 2020 is a great year for her and she continues to do things she enjoys and do well. [127 words]
