what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?:
It might be a little cliche, but I'm really proud of myself for getting straight As this semester! It's my first semester of college and I wouldn't have expected it. I'm especially proud of one class as my papers went from having several red scribbles from the prof on them to being clean with excellent scores! It really boosted my confidence and encouraged me to take more challenging classes this upcoming semester, and I hope I can do just as well. I want to get into a competitive grad school, and I'm more hopeful that I'll be able to get in if I continue at this rate! (107)

what is something you want to do in 2020?:
oh boy, a lot of things! But, if I had to choose just one it would be to work on doing more bigger art pieces/paintings! If I'm going to shoot big, I'd love to do a huge piece that can fit on my wall of a bunch of colorful animals. It's something I've literally always wanted to do when I was a kid and I think it'd be neat to actually achieve it! I also struggle with keeping motivation for paintings, so it'd be something I'd most certainly be proud of in the end. And, it'd make for some nice and personal decoration! (104)

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?:
I had a close friend come out to me as trans last year and I'm unbelievably proud of him!! I've had my own experiences of being in the closet and I know how tough it can be, especially with cruddy parents and people around you. He's one of the strongest people I know and I'm still so proud of him, especially with the immense progress he's made in the past year with his struggle with mental illness. I'm so happy to call him my friend and I hope he continues to grow in 2020! I can't wait to see what kind of person he turns into! (106)

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?:
I am so proud of myself for finishing my first semester of college! I tend to overthink just about everything, so getting over myself and successfully finishing all of my exams with flying colors took a lot of work and focus. I still have a long way to go, including choosing a major and branching out to make new friends, but I am still proud of myself for putting everything I have into school and making a good first impact. I'm also proud of myself for keeping up with my art despite all of the distractions I was faced with this year.

what is something you want to do in 2020?:
My new year's resolution is to start painting more often. I really want to make more original artwork that I can give to friends and family or possibly even sell on the side. I'm no Van Gogh, but I do enjoy painting (sometimes, anyway), and would love to start focusing on creating my own artwork rather than solely drawing commissions and ocs. Of course a lot of this is impacted by my schedule and how I'm currently feeling- it's not always an easy task to drag out all my paints and practice on a medium I'm not super familiar with!- but I really hope I can make it work!

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?:
Oh my goodness, I am so proud of my best friend for sticking through her first college semester and taking on her workload despite the mental challenges she faces! She is so incredible for choosing such a hard major and sticking through with it just so she can eventually save lives. She goes through so much and she really worked so hard all throughout 2019...though I will say there is no way she could have done it without my reminders to finish her essays, lmao. I'm so proud to be her friend and I can't wait to be with her every step of the way and see what kind of awesome person she grows into.

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?:
Even if it is only by a little bit, I'm proud of myself for feeling more confident in my own art. I used to find it incredibly hard to like my own drawings since I could always find all the faults in it, but I've been training my brain to think more positively of it, and think of it as something I just need a little bit more practice on. I may not have drawn much in the past year, and my art may not have improved much from last year, but I'm much more comfortable with it, and of course, still striving to improve it. Being more comfortable with how my drawings look has also made me feel generally better about myself, so I suppose higher self esteem is also something I'm pretty proud of accomplishing in 2019. what is something you want to do in 2020?:
In 2020, I want to continue to learn how to be kind to myself, and to be kinder for others. I'm honestly very bad at socialization, so I want to improve my social skills and improve my relationships with other people, both online and in real life. I've taken psychology as a course this past semester in my school, and I want to use the information I've gained from it to my advantage and help both myself and other people with their troubles. I can use the things I've learned from my textbook and apply it to things in real life, to help myself think more optimistically, and to prevent tensions with my friends. [114]

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?:
My friend is absolutely amazing. They're still kind to me despite my many faults, and even though we both know I can't pay them back with anything but my friendship, they still do so many things for me. I've known them for a little over a year now, and I just hope they can find all the happiness they need in 2020, and in all the years after. I also hope that we can continue to be friends; however, even if we don't, I still wish them all the happiness in the world. I'm also just generally proud of everything they've been able to accomplish, whether it's improving substantially in their artwork, or being able to put their foot down in certain situations instead of letting themselves be walked over by others. what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?:
I am proud of myself for doing the things I promised to do eventually! I started a bullet journal, something I have been interested in doing for a long, long time. Plus, I’m also proud of myself for not abandoning it half way through, nor has it declined in quality/effort! I have also seen way more movies in 2019 than I have any other year, due to my horrible habit of making to watch lists but never actively keeping up with them. I’ve also finally gotten a tablet to better to art with, something I’ve been planning for for a while. I have also began reading some of the books I have saved for a while! 116

what is something you want to do in 2020?:
I want to be more active, or more regularly active! When I’m in any sort of break I slack off, as usually, I just count all the walking I get to and from school as exercise, so I’ve got nothing to force me to be active on the weekends. I hope to take longer walks with my dog, and to go on new routes, and possibly go on hikes. I feel absolutely terrible when I’m at home all day, doing nothing at all. My dog used to be my motivator during the summer months, but now that it’s cold, even the weekly walks are a pain, so I really hope to pick up a habit in exercising a bit more. 120

I am proud of my friend for dealing with his family, his life, everything, the way he does. I don’t know everything that is happening in his life, nor everything he’s dealing with, but I’m so happy that he trusts me enough to rant to me. I’m proud of him for how he’s putting up with his pushy friends and dealing with his love life head on. what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?: Saoirse means Freedom in Irish and I think it suits the competition. Why?? Well my proud accomplishment for 2019 is gaining my freedom from my abusive family. Growing up, I was the one who saw the ugly side of my mother. For one reason or another, she always found something to gripe about when I did anything to make her happy. After moving out of the house almost 5yrs ago and in with a good friend, Im not only getting the medical attention Ive needed for years, but I now have the freedom to figure out who I am in the world and go after my dreams. It took me 5yrs to gain the courage to do what I felt was right without fear of a beating from my mother. I have found a religion that suits me and I have found additional freedom with the help of my Service Dog, Yuki. Due to many things in my past, I have PTSD and other Disabilities. Had I still been living with my family, I know that Yuki never would have come into my life. None of this wouldnt have happened without help from my friend and I cant thank them enough.

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?: Honestly just making it through the year. Saying this has been a terrible year for me is probably an understatement. I think a lot of times this year I just wanted to quit, regardless of consequences, but I didn't and I'm proud of myself for that. Despite everything that's happened this year, I made it through and I did the things I needed to do. Hopefully this will set me up for having a better 2020 haha, I'm hopeful there's a good future out there

what is something you want to do in 2020?: take better care of myself! I feel like self care isn't just giving yourself time off or indulging, but also doing things that are good for you, even if they're not the most pleasant. I have a lot of unhealthy habits and I'm trying to change some of them this year! I have a bad habit of putting off things I don't want to do and it's caused me a lot of grief, so this year I'd like to take the leap and do things ahead or time, or even just do them at all. That's the main thing I'm trying to change but I also want to take better care of my physical health and try to be a more sociable and open person.

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?: One of my friends got out of an abusive relationship this year and I'm really proud of him for that! I know it was really difficult for him and something that's caused him a lot of pain, but I'm hoping this year he can put it behind him. He's honestly an amazing person, I love talking to him and he's just so genuinely kind and passionate, but his ex manipulated him to make him doubt that. Really hoping he can see how much he's worth again this year <3

what is something you're proud of yourself for accomplishing in 2019?: 144 words
I think what i'm most proud of myself for is getting over a REALLY bad falling out with an old group of friends. Long, LONG story short... This guy i had known since 2015, and his entire group of friends, all banded together and decided I was too annoying to stay their friend. But instead of telling me about it, they kept me around so they could make fun of me. Kinda realized it was weird one day, so i confronted the group, and we got into a huge fight that ended pretty badly. It took me a long LONG time to get over it, but I finally did, and I gotta say? It feels good. I'm happy I can finally have a group of friends I love, and I don't gotta worry that they're secretly mad at me or anything like that, idk

what is something you want to do in 2020?: 124 words
Okay full stop? I wanna learn sword fighting. REALLY badly. When i was a kid, my siblings took both archery, and fencing lessons for school. Because of chronic medical issues I had all throughout my early teen years + a long recovery time from an operation a few years back, I was never able to do any of that fun sports stuff with them. I've always been super bummed about it lol, so, in 2020, i want to finally get over my anxiety and muster the courage to AT LEAST take a beginner's course for Western Martial Arts. Ideally with a greatsword, or longsword. I think it would be fun to wield a sword that's as long as some of my friends are tall lol

what is something you're proud of a friend for doing in 2019, or want to happen to them in 2020?: 116 words
It's a pretty simple answer I think? but I'm rooting for my best friend to start testosterone this year, or at the very least get on to a wait-list for it. He's wanted to start for a while (who hasn't?), so here's to hoping that 2020 is gonna be his year for that. He's been so nice to me over the last year, and was so supportive of me when I was going through all that stuff with the previously mentioned falling out i had, and he absolutely deserves it. Minor note, i also hope we can somehow miraculously meet in person this year. If that means I need to fly cross-continent then so be it.
