Selkoi Breeding
During mating season, adult Selkois will often leave their pods to find smaller bodies of water to lay their eggs. Each litter can contain up to four Selkoi eggs, which hatch into tadpole-like creatures known as Selkoi fry. Their parents will take turns watching over them until they begin to grow their legs and can explore land. When Selkoi fry are able to fend for themselves, their parents will usually lead them to open waters, reintroducing them to their pod.
Selkoi fry are very curious and love exploration. Enrichment is very important to them regardless of whether they are pod-raised or human-raised. As a result, it is essential that Selkoi fry live in rich environments where they can play, nose around, find food, and learn to fend for themselves.
Nursery Rules
- All rules from the main thread apply here.
x - Selkois currently have three breeding slots each. This limit may be raised in the future.
- Selkois do not necessarily mate for life, so they don't have to be permanent mates to breed.
- A Selkoi litter will contain up to four Selkoi fry.
x - You may only post breeding tickets once nursery slots are available.
- You must own at least one of the Selkois being bred in order to post a breeding ticket. If you are breeding your Selkoi with someone else's, you must provide proof of permission from the other owner.
- Breeding tickets must be completely filled out and may not be edited after posting. Edited tickets will be considered void.
- If your breeding ticket is accepted, you must wait a month after your nursery batch is posted before you can breed your Selkois again.
- Additionally, fates for your Selkoi's most recent nursery batch must be decided before you can post a new ticket.
x - When your nursery batch is posted, you can decide between keeping, gifting, or adopting out the fry.
- Selkoi fry can be grown a month after their nursery batch is posted.
- Fry growths must be approved by me before they are considered official.
- Selkois from nursery batches can breed two weeks after their growth is approved.
x - Breeding items from the store are applicable here. You must include them in your breeding ticket if you wish to use them.
- Breeding items are one use only.
x - You may trade your Selkoi's breeding slots. In other words, you are able to have people "reserve" a breeding with your Selkoi in exchange for other breeding slots, other Selkois, or MYO Tickets.
- Breeding slots may not be sold for C$ or any other form of currency.
Nursery Rolls - The amount of Selkoi fry is determined by a roll. Each ticket has a 40% chance of having a singleton fry, a 35% chance of having twins, a 20% chance of having triplets, and a 5% chance of having quadruplets.
x - If both parents have the same Tier One or Tier Two edit, it automatically passes down.
- If only one parent has a certain Tier One edit, it has a 70% chance of passing down.
- If only one parent has a certain Tier Two edit, it has a 45% chance of passing down.
x - Tier Three edits can only be passed down with the use of a breeding item.
- The only exception to the above rule is if both parents have a Tier Three edit, in which case the fry have a 25% chance of inheriting either edit. This also applies even when the parents have the same Tier Three edit (ex. if both parents have wings, the fry still have a 25% chance of posessing wings).
