There's something that has been wildly debated but most lions; the existence of a soul. Some say everyone has a soul, other's say such a thing is ridiculous. Zion knows the truth, as with his eyes he sees them, each and every soul laid out inside the chest of each lion. Some damaged from heartbreak, some scared from a troubled youth, other's pristine and blinded by the same optimism that their owner carries.
He's hard to sneak up on, able to see the souls of others through walls, he will often say hello to you before you see him. More importantly he sees when those around him are having a bad day, a bad day that makes the soul itself shine less and become cold to the world around it.
He doesn't hold it upon himself to improve the days of those suffering, more of a witness to the pain you are going through than a partner through it. He has witnessed many things, that which his eyes have seen, the self-loathing and pain of others. It's no wonder he has become largely apathetic to life.
