[the folly of man]

thought i'd make a place to post all my writing stuff, since i make random short poems a whole lot, and its more fun to just post them instead of making oekaki drawings specifically for them.
sometimes they're song lyrics, just without actually being a song, so i count those as poems, too.

you may read these if you'd like, but i have one thing to ask:

(extended version of a poem i've posted before)

i dont want to cut you off
and im not going to
but that doesnt stop me
from worrying about you

why do i feel so lonely when you leave?
how come i keep on thinking that i can believe
in you
and that you can be better?

nobody's perfect
and i've seen this over the years
but you're a troublemaker
and i dont know how much longer you'll be here

and im scared
i fear
im terrified
what's going to happen?
i've gotten too attatched
in the end there's going to be tears

tears as i cry
over you
someone i hardly knew

do you like me?
because i cant say i feel the same,,
the whole thought of being loved is frightening
its weighing on my brain

i dont want to hurt you
i really dont
but i dont want to say anything thats not true
so i wont

please dont be upset
there's plenty of fish in the sea
i still want to be friends
and you can find someone better than me

i just want love
but i'm afraid to be loved
i dont want to upset anyone

it's happened before
and i dont want it to happen ever again
the thought terrifies me
i really dont want to lose another friend
in the end
of it all
dont want to
let you fall

its possible to adore someone that you dont know
its possible to become friends with someone who's face they'd never show

i know this firsthand
im not sure if you'd understand
i've gotten attached
and there's no going back

i just want to see them
i just want to meet them
maybe in the future someday
just not tomorrow, and not today

i'm scared

i don't want to go out there

what can't be unseen

i've made mistakes
but we all have before

everyone was hurt with
scars that will never heal
i'm sorry you had to go through it
i wish that it was never real

i didn't mean for it to go down like that
i didn't want it to happen
except i knew it was inevitable
my beliefs would attract
all that attention

its all my mind knows how to feel
fear
of things that aren't even real

there's so many people out there
so many people are scared

there's tons that are like me
tons plagued by the same anxieties

and there's nothing i can do
nothing i can do

to help them

why do i have to be so sad
all of the time
why do i have to feel bad
when its not something that should make me cry
