He was near the edge of the refuge when it happened, looking for tender young roots away from the prying eyes of his herd mates. He had just found some delicious morsels when he was startled, ramming his head into the concrete wall in surprise and breaking a horn. And what startled this huge beast? Prompt: Maverick is a Gentle giant but when it comes to protecting his family their is no stopping him. it was a normal day the same as the others,sunny,partially cloudy,birds singing their heartfelt songs,the sounds of the nearby stream flowing calmly, that was until a cougar came sneaking by targeting a young calf no older than a couple of days until it charged at it. Maverick quickly caught onto the threat and went to the calf's aid fighting the big cat off in the end Maverick won the fight and him,the calf and the herd were safe aside from his horn being broken clean off by one of the cats dangerous swipes of its paw but to this very day it is seen as a symbol of a Nobel and brave deed of his quick actions and his brave heart.
