so, if you don't mind me asking, how do artist searches work? it sounds like a fun idea, but I have trouble understanding what to do in an "artist search".

A basic artist search is where you color in a set of lines for the species with preset rules or guidelines. A basic try out to both give you a chance to get a feel for the lines as well as allow staff members to see what you can provide.
If you feel like you have a good grasp/liking/understanding of the lines and the staff enjoy your design, you're asked to join the team.
If you don't have a good liking or grasp of the lines but staff stil enjoy then you may sti get asked and you can deny it or not.

Ultimately, its up to staff of the adoptable to hire you.

I'm also upset. XD i was 90% complete with one of my try outs and my laptop shut down before i could save my progress and i lost everything.
Gunna give myself a cool down then give it a retry.
I didn't like the color palette i chose for my first one anyways.

Edit: Tho tbf, i'm not use to chicken paint. This is my first time using chicken paint really. I prefer outside media like GIMP
