what you gotta do:
01. preheat oven to 350F! x 02. defrost your pie crusts & lie them flat! x 03. flower shaped cookie cutters
will do the trick- cut out as many as you can! lie aside half of the flowers! x 04. arrange the other half on a
parchment paper! x 05. brush beaten egg onto all of the shapes! x 06. press a lollipop stick into each shape
just enough to embed it! x 07. add desired amount of chocolate & marshmallow! x 08. place the set-aside
flowers onto the existing ones- pinch the dough together! x 09. use a fork to seal the edges! x 10. pop 'em
in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes until they're golden brown! x 11. dig in!!

Dulce and Kafe's Cooking Joy

Postby solasta » Sat Jul 28, 2018 1:12 pm

      username ; solasta | link to rollcall ; here | name ; dulce | gender ; male | s'mores recipe ; s'mores magic bars

    Ingredients
9 graham cracker sheets approximately 5.4 oz worth, crushed
6 TBSPs of unsalted butter melted
    2 TBSPs granulated sugar
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp baking powder
    3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter room temperature
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1 large egg
    3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
    1 cup milk chocolate chips
    1 cup mini marshmallows
      Image
    Instructions
Kafe drags Dulce to her cabin's kitchen counter and introduces him the S'mores Magic Bars recipe which is her favorite activity for camping.
"First, you must preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then, grab a cookie or baking pan and spray cooking spray in it so they don't stick." She purrs happily.
"Next, In a large bowl, mix together the delicious graham crackers, with 6 TBSPs of melted butter and 2 TBSPs of sugar. Press into the bottom of the pan." Dulce watches with puppy dog eyes in amazement.
"Third, In a different bowl, mix together 1 1/4 cup flour, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp baking powder, set aside."
"Fourth, Beat together 3/4 cup of granulated sugar and 1/2 cup unsalted butter until creamy, about two minutes. Add in the egg and then the vanilla until just combined. Slowly add in the flour mixture until it is fully combined." Kafe continues enthusiastically.
"Fifth, Very carefully spread the cookie dough mixture on top of the graham cracker crust. The easiest way to do this is to take small amounts, flatten it in your hands, and set it on the crust. Looks yummy right?"
"Sixth, Evenly spread the mini marshmallows and the chocolate chips over the top of the cookie dough. Then evenly pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top. Almost done dear." Kafe squeals in excitement. Dulce jumps from the sudden burst of excitement.
"Finally, Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Done !!" Kafe hands a gooey bar to Dulce. His eyes filled with joy and tears.

Does it have to be an actual recipe, or could we just draw it?

gender ; Genderfluid, usually 'he' or 'them'
s'mores recipe ;
peanut butter and jelly s'mores!
(this version is kamp friendly, so no peanut butter, but Fir insists its just as yummy!)
It's a simple treat, and she knows it.
Even so, she gives the kamper that invited her over her biggest grin. She wanted to repay their kindness by blowing their mind with her favorite s'mores recipe.

She sits down with a thwump next to them.
S-o-r-o is how they had introduced themself to her. She had laughed as she watched them struggle to spell it out on a plate with marshmallows. Her name was simpler to spell, albeit still difficult when it came time to try and form letters with white puffs of gooeyness rolling each and every which way.
When they finished messing about, Fir clapped her hands together, ready to begin.

'Step one.' She signed, taking a marshmallow and spearing it. Soro watched her with a raised eyebrow and an easy expression as her amazing recipe started simply with.. roasting the marshmallows. And this prompted a very important question.
"How do you like your marshmallows?" Soro asked, with an innocent expression. They knew better. Those six words had created wars in the past- those who preferred a golden crisp versus the burnt remains of what once were marshmallows. There lay a third team- the ungodly uncooked marshmallows- but Soro would never acknowledge them. Half the fun of s'mores was the mess!

Fir answered them by pulling out her marshmallow with a flourish. Her marshmallow was uncooked on one side and badly burnt on the other. She gave a slight frown.
Soro burst out laughing, knowing the answer their new friend had been trying to give. Golden.
An elusive kind of marshmallow. They themself preferred burnt, so they simply switched their marshmallow with Fir's, while she continued her recipe.

'Step two,' she signed, leaving her marshmallow (still pierced on the stick) hanging over the bench while she dug through her kamp pack. She pulled out a jar of dubious black.. sludge, and spread it over four graham crackers, placing dark chocolate over it. Soro must have looked as hesitant as they felt, so she offered one. 'Blackberry jam. Made it here the other day.'
Eyeing her, before muttering a small "thanks," as they took a small bite. She made another one to replace it. Their eyes grew wide. The slight bitterness went wonderfully with the sweet chocolate and graham cracker.
'Homemade,' Fir insisted, nodding with approval at their reaction. She had been hoping to offer her jam to someone before she left, maybe she could wrap up a jar as a present for them.

'Aaand..' She drew out this sign with a flourish, never wasting an opportunity to entertain.
'Step three.' With a steady hand, she combined her crackers with the marshmallow, prying it gently off the stick. With everything already on, all she had to do was press them together into one gooey sticky mess.

She took a big bite and watched Soro, prompting them to follow her lead. They combined their marshmallow and graham crackers and took a bite of their own s'mores. Their hands remained clean... but the same couldn't be said for the jam smeared over their face as their dessert disappeared.
"Oh. Oh wow." They looked down in shock. "How can adding something so simple be so good?"

--

A few nights later, as kamp was drawing to a close, Soro found a jar of jam in their pack that certainly hadn't been there before. The label was simply signed 'Fir' with sharpie stars and smiley faces.

    s'mores recipe ;
clary's s'mores dip recipe!

ingredients:
- 1/2 tablespoon of butter
- 1 & 1/2 cups of chocolate chips (clary prefers semi-sweet!)
- 15 jumbo marshmallows (halved)
- Graham cracker squares (for dipping!)

instructions:
Adjust rack to center position of oven and place 8-inch cast iron skillet on rack. Preheat oven to 450°F with skillet inside. Once oven is preheated, use a pot holder to remove hot skillet from the oven. Place pat of butter in the skillet and use a pot holder to hold the handle and swirl the skillet so that the melted butter coats the bottom and sides. Pour chocolate chips in an even layer into the bottom of the skillet. Taking care not to burn paws on the sides of the skillet, arrange marshmallow halves over the surface of the chocolate chips, covering the chocolate completely. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes or until marshmallows are toasted to your preference (watch closely!). Use an oven mitt to remove the skillet from the oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Serve immediately with graham cracker squares or sticks...but be careful, because the dip (and the skillet) will be very hot!

(Clary also says that you can use nay other bake-safe dish! and you can go crazy with the toppings!)
