She failed.

The rain fell around her, but she could barely see it through the tears in her eyes,
that traveled down her cheeks in burning trails.

She failed.

The ground squelched beneath her pounding paws, but she had no heart for this.
Had no idea this was how things would turn out. Her heart seized and the fizzle of magic, burst from her claws.
Still, she ran.

She became aware of the nature of her wet fur and idly sought shelter, absentminded save for the fact that she had in all ways of the term failed the biggest test of her life. The devastation was a friend to her in this state and she let it bleed into her heart. What could she do now? She stared at her black claws and swallowed back the tears that threatened to come back.

She was just about to head on when suddenly the rain stopped. Or rather it stopped raining on her.
She looked up to see a figure, feminine peering down at her with distinct strange eyes and a bleak smile on her face.

"You're far from home out here, miss witch." The figure was pink and striped, but her tail was that of a snake's. Almost like her star-pupil eyes. "Why so upset?" She asked, slowly, methodically. As though she simply couldn't get up the emotion to care. And it sparked something in young Nessa's heart.

She glared coldly back at her, baring her fangs. "What's it to you?!" She snapped, ears flattening. She saw a brief flash of emotion in those strange eyes before the snake woman hummed softly.

"It's not my concern at all. But I recognize when one feels all of these emotions and has magical abilities, things tend to go wrong. And obviously, something went very wrong today if that magical surge I felt earlier was anything to go by."

Nessa blanched. "Y-You felt it?"
The woman nodded and then sighed softly.

"Darling girl, why are you hiding from being a witch?"

in this land, witches were surrounded with the power of nature. they drew their source from many things, all special to the individual. she was never to reveal her source, bound by witch code. but in this day and age, many chose to share it with the their most loved one. even if it would be the end of them.
