You can always preview your post without actually posting. You can also save it as a draft.

sometimes on mobile it looks different in preview form.
im more looking for a coding equivalent to ‘character storage’

Unfortunately no, saving coding any where on the forum is considered spam. Sorry! ): Like Shian said you can use drafts or PM code to yourself, but neither of those methods are perfect - I just practise in the preview but bear in mind that it's a bit thinner than actual posts while coding.
