"Dreams? Tsch. Dreams is a word used for unattainable goals. I fully aim to achieve mine."

One day after primary school and before her first vacation away from home, Lily made herself a passport. In reality, this was a 250-page leather-bound spiral-spine sketch notebook. The thought of traveling the world to faraway vacation destinations with her parents had inspired her. Ninlil would wander off from her Mom and Pops whenever opportunity struck. Her dream ultimate goal is to have visited every continent in the world and have filled every page in her notebook.

First and foremost, Lily's passport is a portfolio of floral souvenirs from every place she's ever been. Less importantly, it's filled with hand-drawn sketches of flora and fauna from her adventures. Ninlil doesn't have to actually take a bloomed flower and press it between her passport's pages to cross it off the list. Rather, she is content with only a sketch if it means preserving the beauty of the blooms for others to come.

On the first four pages, there is a list of rare flora with accompanying detailed descriptions. Lily started off by scouring her school library for books on the flowers in her backyard and has since expanded her search beyond libraries. Now while on adventures, you can find Ninlil inquiring local botanists about unique indigenous plant life. On her list, you can find rare and strange flowers like the youtan poluo, chocolate cosmos and parrot's beak.

She is still in the beginning stages of her journey and has a long road ahead of herself.
She has only visited 2 continents so far.

🌺 Flora Entry Number One:


Honeysuckle - scientific name Lonicera japonica - First Bloom: April 18th, 1991 (my 8th birthday!)

This is the kind of honeysuckle that grows in my backyard! Mom and Pops tried to get rid of the bushes, but I'm good at growing them back. Books in the library have taught me how to keep them strong. I like to bike home during recess to check on my plants. The blossoms are white and you can pull the stamen out of the middle to get the sweet and delicious nectar. Don't eat from yellow blossoms!

I like to sneak out after school while mom isn't paying any attention and eat a bunch of it... Not that she'll ever know! I've pressed 5 of the flowers in the back and I'll let them dry for future reference. Until next time!
