prompt;; Mum always said that a bout of severe weather always leads to knowledge. Well, she was right, 'cause a year ago a massive storm brewed on the horizon, promising nothin' but to give winds strong enough to level miles of land. The blanket of grey clouds rolled in rapidly and had covered the whole sky. The late afternoon sky was all hazy 'n stuff, and shadows already spread over everythin'. All the lil' woodland critters from the forest nearby had scattered into their homes. Only ones you could see were the ones a runnin'. This storm was guaranteed to hit us; it was guarunteed to hit us bad. I kept what Mum had said in mind as I headed out to our storm shelter. She was away on a business trip and so it was just me and my Father. When I went out there my small lil body almost was blown away by the heavy winds. I was swept out from under my own two feet when father grabbed me and pulled me close. I really would have been carried away by those winds if it hadn't been for him. We locked ourselves in that storm shelter with two lanterns and half loaf a bread, plus what was already in there. (Wasn't really much though.) That storm came in like an angry bull. It was unforgiving and destructive. It ravaged through everythin’ in its path. It knocked down ‘bout half th’ trees in sight. Nobody had any of their fence left in tact. If it wasn’t blown away it was broken in to firewood. Many people’s houses were flooded or obliterated ‘cause their windows broke. Father told me that our neighbors said that they heard there was a massive twister that came through. Everythin’ was trash. All the stores and fields and homes and barns. All of it. But we worked together to fix it. We all came together and build everything back up. Father helped round up loose cattle ‘un horses. I caught stray chickens for Mr. Pete with the other littluns. I didn't know why I was doing it. Father just told me to. I asked him why, and he asked me that if our chickens went out that far and I had a broken leg, wouldn't I want help catchin’ ‘em? I reflected on that an’ at that time I realized the importance of the teamwork and helpin’ others. If everyone only tried to help themselves, nobody would get anything done. Everyone has got to help each other do what they can’t. Everyone gotta come together an’ be more than just neighbors- we gotta be a family at these times.

I was helpin’ move stuff and someone I wasn't familiar with said hello to me. I came over an’ introduced myself. I listenin’ to him, he was a carpenter from the other side of town, an’ he said that because of the way my home and our neighbor’s house were all damaged that he made a plan to keep that from happenin’ again. He showed me this sketch he made to improve the walls and showed me how an’ why it worked. It seemed awfully simple. I dunno how nobody thought of it before.

Took a while, but later that year everything was restored. I watched that carpenter construct his creation with my very own eyes. An’ you know, it musta worked cause through all the storms and other events, our homes have stayed strong. I don’t know who he is or where he is now, I just wish I could thank ‘em for helping.

Tell me something important they learned;
Milo is a people pleaser, he feels like he has to make everyone happy, and it was starting to stress him out. So he went to go visit a local witch who's known to give good advice, to help him sort out his problems. After a bit of talking she finally gave him the answer to his problems, something that would stick with him forever. "You know, sometimes you just have to tell someone that they have an ugly baby.", Milo looked at her in confusion "Excuse me?". "I don't mean it literally, but sometimes you're going to have to say something to someone for the greater good, even if it can hurt their feelings. If you just say what everyone wants to hear all the time that just ends up hurting them more than helping them.". After that encounter Milo made that statement his golden rule, he made sure to say what he felt would actually help them and not just what they want to hear, without being rude of course. The most important thing they learned was in there first year, She was out gathering food with her best friend. Her friend noticed some berries and began picking them and eating some. Scarlet was about to help him she recognized the Nightshade and quickly knocked her friend away from them. Though he had already eaten to many and was already looking sick. Quickly she ran back to the pack and got help, but by the time they got to her friend it was to late.. From that day on she learned to idintafie all types of berries and plants to help prevent this from happening again.

Sorry for the delay on judging. I had to get a couple extra opinions on this first <3
and the winner is ~Prophecy~, you're character development really helped your form shine just a bit above the others.
